I am an express entry candidate, 28 years old, holding a Masters Degree, IELTS CLB 9 and with 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer in the USA (NOC Code 2173). I created my express entry profile in Nov 2021 with the score of 472. I was hoping for an OINP invite in Tech Draw that came out on Feb 8th 2022 but I didn't get any. The OINP updates page stated that they targeted candidates with a CRS score between 463 and 467. Even in the last years' tech draw, 467 was the highest score. Anyone know why do they not want a candidate with higher score? What can I do to get an invite from Canada given FSW is halted for now?
TIA.

Your score is too high to be selected for Ontario. There are several existing threads that discuss this situation.

If you want to be selected by Ontario, you would need to lower your score.

Thank you for the response :)
How to reduce the score?
And may be a wring question to ask, apologies in advance - why the score is too high and why have an upper limit?

Some people are redoing IELTS to get a lower score. Ontario decides on the parameters, and don’t need to state why. Maybe it was because when FSW draws were frequent, they could then select people who they know want to come to Ontario and not move soon after PR.

These topics have been rehashed many times here. Let me see if I can find one of the threads on this topic.

Same here. My CRS score is 468 with Canadian experience, particularly in Ontario. Did I missed the window because my score is 1 point high?

Your score must be within the numbers drawn so if it is 463-467 (example), then you will not get a nomination.

Yes, that's why you weren't selected. Your score must fall within the range to be picked. If you are above the range, then you won't get an invite.

Score less in IELTS to come in range.
