Seems like.. either they have processed thousands of OWPs and just waiting for the very last day to mail.. Or just have not cared to do so.. Would know in first week of May.. once 22 April time is passed.....
CIC just wants to punish us... !!. want to discourage foreigners to marry canadian.
I couldn't agree more with you :(

The pilot program delivery clearly states that those who sent their PR apps after Dec 22, 2014 will have their OWP apps processed within 4 months of receiving the OWP app.

All those, like you, who sent their PR app before Dec 22nd and then separately sent the OWP app after Dec 22nd don't fall in the above category and were not guaranteed OWPs within 4 months of the program start.

You really need to lay off the vitriol. CIC is not trying to punish anyone, nor do they discourage foreigners from marrying Canadians.

This x100000. Canada actually has one of the most flexible programs as far as spouses are concerned - they are one of only a select few countries who offer routes to immigration via common-law and conjugal routes. Many other countries don't recognize such a relationship between two people, you're either married or you're not. They are also in the minority of countries that allow you to go straight to PR off sponsorship, many other countries will allow a residency visa of some description first but then it's up to the person to accumulate enough time or points or whatever to actually get proper residency, then citizenship comes later. Canada allowing the spouse to go straight to PR is actually incredibly generous - and is part of the reason that the processing time is what it is.

There are going to be some people who are never going to be happy or satisfied, no matter how hard the government is trying to accommodate. Give an inch, they want a mile in return. The government is giving them an opportunity to get OWP before AIP stage for inland and they still complain and moan about it. As far as I'm concerned, there is no pleasing them at all. In other words, they will never be graceful at all.

First of all, this is off topic, this thread is for us to figure out the how to apply for OWP and how long is the waiting period etc, not to tell people that they aren't graceful or satisfied with the processing time. Judging desperate people isn't graceful either.

Second of all, I noticed that people who spoke above have already landed and processing their applications didn't take over a year. So try to be more understanding to others, who have been waiting x more time than you.

I totally agree, Im sure all we want is to work and be able to help providing for our families, its not about not being graceful but it is really hard to not know when we will be entitled to the OWP. I am very happy for those of you who already got yours and I understand how frustrating it is for the rest of us who applied and been waiting longer. lets be respectful and understanding to each other and lets keep the focus on this thread.

Carolinaf & Marylou6:

God bless you both for responding the way you both did. Your comments are part of the most pleasant I've read here. Nobody is ungrateful here, and I'm sure most are only trying to make a better life than wasting away. We should mind the choice of words especially on a forum like this and understand that many are going through some unbearable situations in a bid to get themselves established and united with their loved ones.

Then my post was perfectly on topic. I explained who does and does not qualify for the "within 4 months" timeline.

As for the responses to vik999, I suggest you have a read through his previous posts; some of us have had to deal with his BS on other threads. Lots of CIC bashing, Canada bashing, claiming discrimination, trying to incite issues on other threads, talking about filing human rights complaints with the UN and complaints with foreign embassies for being "trapped" in Canada, etc. I have no care to be understanding to such a negative person.

To Carolina and marylou.

My post was directed at those who are not graceful like vik999. Hence the reason I wrote "Some people".

While it is true that the waiting time is frustrating, let us not forget that (AT LEAST) the Canadian government has given us the opportunity to be with our spouses so we can spend more time with them instead of being miles apart. This makes it less emotionally frustrating.

Let us look at the bright side of things. While we are not yet entitled to work, why don't we make the most out of it by just enjoying being with our spouses, or explore the town, smell the roses, bond with nature, and all other cheesy stuff lol. It's gonna be VERY different when we start with our jobs. Don't waste your time and energy on negative stuff.

Just to update you guys for the timeline (and to lighten up the mood a bit)

I sent my OWP app on the late January 2015 and it was released on March 30, 2015. I received it on April 10 :)

Hang tight, everyone! Looks like they're on their way :)

That's amazing shesosilly! I'm so happy for you! Did you send your OWP with PR application or separately?
:D

Hi MaryLou6. Yes, it was sent separately. My PR app was sent around December 28,2014. I didn't know about the OWP program then. I also received 2 AOR's and can view it in ECAS.

There is hope! Lol
