I hope so bad they I get it pretty soon otherwise I ran into issue's because my boss sold his company and I will not have implied status anymore. Please let them work quick

Why would you not have implied status anymore? Implied status is an extension of your status while waiting for a decision as far as I know. Therefore you would be on implied status until your OWP is approved or denied at which point you can continue working with the new permit or in case of denial have to obtain visitor/work status via another way.

My boss sold his company to a other one. They are taking over end of april. May 7th my Visa is expiring and because of the new owner and a new name I will lose my status. I need the OWP asap, my new boss wants me to submit a new work Permit just to be on the safe site. I hate this situation, I think its the most complicated case ever.

You still have the implied status regardless of your former employers situation but you certainty can not work in your new boss yet though. Keep the faith you'll get it soon too

About a week after sending my OWP (separately on Feb 9), my sponsor got an email saying they started processing her application and we were able to log onto ECAS but only with her UCI number. I assumed that it was related to my OWP as I was only at about 8 months since applying for PR with about 9 more to wait for AIP. For the past 2 months or so, I would log into ECAS to see the same messages (application received on..., we started processing your sponsorship application on..., etc.). We have not received anything from CIC since that email to my sponsor in February.

Now this weekend, I noticed that I can no longer log into ECAS. I tried (and retried) her UCI, my UCI and the application number, all to no avail. Is this bad? Did this happen to anyone else? Is the system just down or something?

Could this mean they processed my OWP application?
Did they simply process her sponsorship application and the sponsorship approval letter/email will come soon?

First I don't think the email has anything to do with the OWP, it must have been in respect of the PR application. And could you please clarify if this is IN-LAND or OUT-LAND application?

How to apply for open work permit. I have submitted my sponsorship application last Feb 2015. Is there a specific form only.
I didn't know about that so i applied for my visit visa extension.

Please help me.

It's a relatively quick form to fill out. After applying for PR it will seem like a piece of cake. Good luck.

Thanks for the quick response. I feel relieved a bit. And how would i indicate that i am applying for OWP and how to pay the Fees.

The fee is $255 ($155 + $100)

As soon as CIC receives your OWP application, they will check to see that you have submitted the Inland sponsorship application (which is how you will qualify for this pilot program OWP). According to CIC, it takes ~ 4 months to receive it.


If only you had included an OWP with the Inland application, it would have given you `implied status', meaning that you would not have had to even apply to extend your visitor visa, but...C'est la vie!
