Hello,

If someone is attending a one year masters program in Canada and he is able to get 1 year Post graduation work permit , then he works for one year after graduation, what will happen next? will he be able to extend the work permit or ask the employer to sponser him? this usually happens?

Or better to target 2 year masters program that he gets 3 year work permit?

Thanks
A

hi,

If employer wants then he/she can extend your work permit.(LMO) As per new rules coming into effect in jan 2013 one would be able to apply for PR after 1 year of experience. But it all depends on diffrent possibilities such getting a job, extension of work permit and the processing time as lot more people will be eligible once the new rules comes into effect.

The other option is that you can apply for PNP if you do your masters from ontario in that case you dont have to wait for 1 year of experince. i think they accept 1000 PNP application every year..

I hope this helps...
