I'm sorry I don't really know where to post this but I hope you can advise me on this.
I'm a PR (date of entry: May 9, 2012) planning to return to the Philippines this coming January. I am intending to stay there for about 6 months at most while waiting for my boyfriend to finish his financial obligations, and then we can get married.
Seeing as I don't really have a set date of return here to Canada, I purchased a one way ticket but the travel agency informed me that they cannot sell me the ticket yet because I might have an issue with the Philippine consulate about returning here. I'd be questioned as such why I'm going to the Philippines on a one way ticket. Presumably, she was assuming that I might not be able to return here within three years thus revoking my PR status (of course they are not to be held liable if such matters arise). She advised me to contact the Philippine consulate here in the city to ask if this is allowed and would not jeopardize my PR status.
What should I do? Should I just set a return date if ever?
