One- vs Double-Sided Print

So I have printed out my citizen app. double-sided (to save on paper, environment and all). I've since looked around and it seems like most people here do one-sided for whatever reason and highly recommend it. So I'm curious has anyone else done a double-sided print and experienced any delays or returned applications?

This will sound ridiculous but from what I have heard from immigration consultants and someone who worked in immigration, at times IRCC scans the document and do not bother to check whether the print outs are double sided. So if you do use double sided printouts then there are chances that the application could be rejected as incomplete.

Double-sided is fine. If it wasn't, that would be stated in the guide.

Thanks! That's what I figured, but hearing all the people around here preferring one-sided made me doubtful...

This does sound a bit ridiculous, especially given that all you need to do to scan the double-sided docs. is to change one single option on your scanner to allow you to do so and off you go. Anyway, I guess I can only wait and see at this point.

I am 99% sure my application was sent in double sided.

There is no right or wrong. Do what you feel comfortable. If no section is omitted by error, you will be fine.

One caveat with double-side printing: make sure you print the bar codes (usually there are two pages) on a separate sheet. The reason for that is the document checklist CIT 0007 E which asks:

Place the barcode page on the top of your application (or if applying as a group/family, in each individual application package)

Depending on how lengthy your tables, your application may have odd or even number of pages. In case it is odd, you will have bar codes on the same page with you signature, and if you put the bar codes first, as asked, it will be a bit weird as you application seems unsigned. It also gives more chances to the CIC officer for misplacing the page with the signature, as I can guess they scan bar codes and then may dispose them.
