OND DIPLOMA and HND DIPLOMA EDUCATION RATING (POINTS)

Hi everybody and senior members,

I am new to the forum, and I applied for FSW Immigration a month before the end of 2007. I have a few questions and will be highly appreciative if some of the senior members would reply.

1.Could anyone please throw some light on how the CIC will assess somebody holding a 2-Year OND (ordinary National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering), One year Indurstrial Training , and then went back to do another two year HND (Higher National Diploma - Majoring in Electronics).

2. Transcripts- How does someone who left a College of Technology almost 20 Years ago request for his transcripts. ( As I already have them years back from the college but no longer in sealed envelopes as is being requested by the CIC.)

Sorry for the incomplete information, I guess I need to put down the no of years as well

1) Primary School - 6 years
2) Secondary School - 5 years
3) A- Levels - 2 Years
4) OND - 2 Years
5)HND -2 Years

Yes, The 1- year Indurstrial Training had to be done after the OND Diploma and was a pre-requiste to be admitted for the HND i.e to say you could not (those days do a straight 4 year HND course).

Thanks once again for the prompt response.

1) I am not sure I guess it depends on the Country.

2)To achieve the OND Diploma I had to do a 3 Months Indurstrial Attachment after my first year i.e OND-year1 - 3months Indurstrial attachment and then OND- Year2. ( OND Diploma succesfully achieved)

3)The 1- Year Indurstrial/work experience was after the OND Diploma i.e to say the Diploma was already awarded. But to be able to be admitted for the HND you had to have undergone this one year training and submitted a letter from the company where you had done the training.

4)FYI:Note - one could not just go and apply to do an HND course without the OND.

I am in the same shoes as you and I am claiming 22 points for education cos the requirement states that diploma other than university degree with FIFTEEN years of study which I think an HND holder would have attained.

Thank you very much for your posts/responses.

To Rupesh: You are right, I guess i should leave it to the CIC Officer to decide. But sometimes every point could be critical.

To MOT:
I am and have always been of the same opinion as yours. I recollect having read somewhere that the Diploma/Degree attained or achieved by an immigration applicant be assessed according to the country of study i.e no of years needed to achieve the particular degree or diploma in that country. I might be mistaken, but I can live with 20 Points as well.I hope you too.

Obtained a three-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship (other than university) and completed at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies 22 points
