Once LMO is approved what happens next?

We are in the process of an LMO approval. It only has been in HRSDC for 2 weeks.
I was wondering once its approved does it go to Paris? Or could I enter Canada as soon as its approved?


Do I apply for the work permit in the country or outside the country. And that goes with the question does it go to Paris Embassy?

Once it's approved, your employer should get a letter to forward to you. You can apply for your work permit at the Paris Embassy or apply at the Canadian border as you enter Canada if your job doesn't require a medical and you don't need a visa.

If you're visa exempt, you can probably enter before you get the work permit. If you aren't visa exempt, you will need to wait until you get the work permit and TRV to enter Canada.

LMO and work permit are two separate items.

Our country is visa exempt since we are out in Portugal.

My lawyer explained to me today that once the LMO is approved we just book our tickets and fly to Canada and Im assuming the Work Permit is processed at the border.

I was just curious to why when we applied for our very first work permit in 2008 why it was sent to Paris and we did medicals and this time we are not doing medicals nor is it being sent to Paris, according to my lawyer.

Any ideas why?
