Forum,
Looked long and hard for this info - hoping someone can answer this for me.
I am on a Work Permit in Canada. My spouse and child (US Citizens) entered Canada as visitors and now I'm trying to bring them under my BC Health Coverage. To do so, I need to prove they entered the country as my dependents. Given they are already here, what should I do?
I understand my spouse can apply for a Open Work Permit, effectively changing her status from visitor to worker, from inside Canada.
For my child - none of the options - work/study permit etc do not make sense, he is a toddler and too young for school!
Is flagpoling and re-entering Canada with them (while I accompany them, and show my work permit etc) an option?
Do they now enter as a 'visitor' who can reside long-term with me?
thanks
