I'm doing a search for someone in the Philippines who would be interested in taking a a job as a live-in (or live-out) caregiver in Montreal
She is already fully qualified and experienced in the field.
I don't necessarily need to go through an agency to help this girl with the CIC paperwork however I have no experience with the LMIA or the contract that she would need to obtain in order for her to apply for a private posting job. I know already about the delays the Philippine embassy can cause :-( but it's ok.
How am I supposed to identify a potential private posting from someone who would be interested in hiring someone from the Philippines? Could this be one of them?
"The information found in some of the fields in this job offer was translated by the employer. The translation has not been verified by Emploi-Québec or Service Canada.
This job offer has been published by a recruitment agency or a labour market intermediary.
Number of position(s) to fill : 1
Offer N° : 4409513
In-house job name (if different) : In-home caregiver
In-house reference (competitive examination n°, code, etc.) : In-home caregiver
OPPORTUNITÉ QUÊTE DU CANADA"

What does opportunite quete du canada signify? Could this mean they are interested in someone from out of Canada?
Thank you everyone,
This board is awesome ... without it, we would all be lost!
Sincerely,
Laurier

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
This is not a private posting. "Opportunite Quete du Canada" is an agency.

I have not done any in depth research, but my first reaction is "beware".

Edited to add: said agency is cited in the article below as charging fees to applicants. This is illegal.

thank you Lammawitch ... the more I read about the possibility of hiring foreign live-in caregivers from abroad, the more I get depressed. 38 month wait time to hear an answer from our government to an LMIA? is that possible?

While it's neither easy nor fast, I don't think you are looking at the right processing times for LMIA + caregiver work permit (it's long, but not THAT long - maybe you are looking at PR processing times?)

Yes I probably got that time frame confused with something else. I wonder if I can ask the following question:
I don't think a private individual can properly manage this process of searching for an employer who will or has submitted an LMIA, make up a contract, etc. etc. and I don't see those live-in caregiver type of job opportunities for foreign workers posted on the Canada Job Bank.
Therefore; I have to conclude that agencies almost exclusively manage this process. So finally my question is: In the Montreal and/or Toronto area, which agencies are the best at doing this?
Thank you!
