Has anyone given up on ON PNP and applied through Express Entry?

I am setting up my Express Entry profile, should be completed by end of the week. I paid my RPRF fee for my PNP PR application though, I wonder if I'll have to pay again if I am selected for Express Entry?

I hope you do not. However, it is CIC they just want more money and process nothing

Another shocking turn of events by the failing system of Ontario PNP:

A quick background summary about me - I received my Ontario PNP in Feb 2014, AOR in Apr 2014, Medical received in Jul 2014. Had to go through QA late 2014 and till now have ZERO updates from CIC.

Decided to try applying for Express Entry. After indicating that I am provincially nominated in my Express Entry profile, I was instructed to follow up with Ontario PNP office to confirm that they have nominated me, and was given a couple of profile numbers and codes to give them.

Called Ontario PNP office and to my horror they claim that Ontario is NOT participating in Express Entry thus they will not be able to validate my Ontario provincial nomination with EE. So I have to edit my EE profile and write that I do not have provincial nomination even though I do, thus losing 600 points.

This is extremely frustrating and disappointing! Should I forward a complaint to CIC?

Dag bruh!....talk about adding insult to injury. You should probably dig deeper but is it worth the effort? I don't know.

I also called Opportunities Ontario and apparently their system is down so for January and February they can't even check my file based on my file number. Ridiculous.

So if our Ontario PNP nomination is not valid for EE, then is it even worth it to create a profile since we lose on 600 points right off the bat? My IELTS results expire on April of this year, so I was considering giving EE a shot... Does one have to pay anything to create the initial EE profile?

Friends, I know the wait is frustrating but I also feel we are getting impatient(Including myself). The approach of CIC is that people who are already inside Canada get less attention because we are already here and just the status is going to change(only for very few people whose permits are expiring or families waiting - its difficult, sometimes you get implied status). The only thing that keeps us worried is communication and no regular updates about the status and a possible next steps, timeline. In the current ECAS they should show more information like they show in the GCMS notes-atleast the important statuses. Waiting from May without AOR - Thats real frustration!!!

It is kinda ridiculous that CIC just decides to leave inland applicants to the side because we are inside Canada already and thus "less urgent". The implications of being in limbo (i.e., implied status) are endless. Also, being in limbo for a long period of time doesn't seem to be an issue for nominees from other provinces. But I do agree, if CIC kept us in the loop of what's happening and when we should expect the process to advance again, that would help enormously. I am waiting since mid-July for AOR (plus one year wait for ON PNP certificate) and, while I try not to think about it, I am progressively getting more frustrated.

Thanks for all your advice. I have explained my case and sent an attachment of my provincial nomination via an online CIC email form. Hopefully that will be suffice in validating my provincial nomination and thus getting the 600 points towards my EE application.

Hello everyone, I just got the email from ottawa office asking for birth certificate. I wonder why they are asking for it now when it was already there in the application package? comments anyone?? ecas status is still AR (Mar/10/2014).
fellows, please update as you receive news from CIC. thnks

Hi Traxton,
could you please help me answering one question?:
Can we apply under Express Entry as well after we already have our application submitted in the old system?
I applied on August 25/2014, and still waiting for an AOR. My Ontario PNP certificate is expiring on Jan 21, so do you think i should apply under EE too?
thanks

Some people also had CIC asking for documents that were included in the package. Can't really tell why. Did your application reach CIC on Mar 10 or you have AOR status since March?!

So... they are accepting ON PNP under EE for the 600 points for provincial nomination?

That is what I hope but my PNP cert has already expired so I don't know whether they'll still give me 600 points? But I have a pending PNP PR application in progress now, so technically I am still considered a provincial nominee? I don't know how CIC will determine this for me.

Yes applicants can have multiple PR applications via any channels as long as they meet the requirements. You should quickly create an EE profile now in time for the end Jan draw (that is if you qualify under FSW, CEC or FST at this point). The fact that your ON PNP cert hasn't expired yet is even better. After you have created an EE profile you'll be prompted to validate your providncial nomination, which Ontario PNP office will not do for you. So you have to submit an attachment of your nomination cert and explain your case via an online CIC email form.
