Hello Everyone,

I'm a graduate student doing a two-year masters program at a university in Canada. I'm getting my head around options I might have after I finish school which is expected by end of Fall 2022. I know for CEC, part-time work experience gained in Canada while being registered as a full-time student in not acceptable.

I'm interested in applying for the FSW program. I did two jobs in my home country which were more than 1 year as follows:

Job-A: 1 Year, 2 months 23 days
Job-B: 1 years, 6 months, 15 days

I was working for 40/week in my home country in a job related to my 4-year undergraduate degree. I'm falling short of roughly 3 months to be able to claim maximum points for foreign work experience. I know the above jobs make me eligible for FSW, but I was trying to see if I can use additional work experience here in Canada as a part-time student towards FSW program.

I was doing some research and came across this and this IRCC webpage, I was curious to know if the below experience can be counted in addition to the above two jobs I've mentioned.

Job - C: On-campus teaching assistant (academic position): 60hours/semester for about 5 semesters
Job - D: On-campus executive assistant (Non-academic, administrative position) - 15 hours/week for about 6 months

Job-C and Job-D above were both on-campus jobs during my full-time status at the same university. I was curious to know if I could include Job-C and/or Job-D in my count towards overall work experience for FSW category.

Appreciate your comments.

Thanks,
Sam

You can count your Canadian experience as foreign experience.

Thanks for the confirmation. I had a couple of follow-up questions. Both the part-time on-campus jobs I mentioned above i.e. Job-C and Job-D were paid and were during the time I was registered full-time student at the same DLI. Wouldn't that cause any issues for FSW?

Secondly, both of these part-time jobs (Job-C and Job-D) have a different NOC code, than my primary NOC code pertaining to the initial full-time work experiences in home country i.e. Job-A and Job-B. Would such difference be an issue?

Thank you for the topic and it is very interesting to know: How feasible is it to work and study in Canada at the same time? Is there any difficulty in communicating with the teachers or did it go without any problems? Is there more information? I know for a fact that essay rewriter services help with studying and I even know a useful service: https://eduzaurus.com/essay-rewriter/ that you can use to study. You can use it if you would like to improve your grades or just free up time from homework. Wish a good academic year to everyone!

You are counting the experience as foreign and the NOCs do not have to match your primary code.
