Hi All,

URGENT - Query on Approved BOWP but PR Got Rejected.

May be i am using the old forum but hoping any senior member will be able to help me.

PR Canada - In land AOR: 16th Oct,2018
NOC: 2174
PR Gets rejected on July 10th, 2019.
Reject Reason: Not able to verify my Canadian Experience (Roles & Responsibilities)

But I have BOWP Valid till April 03, 2020 (Tiill Next Year)

Question: Am I eligible to remain & work legally in Canada based on my BOWP and in-parallel apply for PR again or ask my employer to apply for closed work permit.??

Guyes, If any one have any views on it, Then can you please help me? Because I am feeling helpless & not having exact clue what to do.
Thanks in advance for help.

Yes - you can remain in Canada and work as long as your BOWP is valid.

That is correct. The BOWP is simply another open work permit. It’s based on your PR application but the outcome of the PR does not negate the status of the permit. You can work till the expiry date of the BOWP and re-apply for PR. Good luck.

Sorry to jump in this so late,
What do you mean by the BOWP being "valid"? I recently got my BOWP for the next year, but the cynic in me feels that it can't be true. So curious to know what valid means?

Hey,

The BOWP is just another open work permit so it will have an expiry date and that’s what I mean by as long as it is still valid. You can keep working on Canada until the expiry date on the BOWP and if you haven’t gotten a decision or reapplied for another permit then you have to stop working on the expiry date. Hope that helps !!!

Ohh okay. Thanks for the advice .

Any idea on what “Temporary Resident Status Maintained as per R183(6) Pending APR” means at the bottom of the permit? The link on the site is just gibberish to me

I have the same question, can anyone explain what this line means, it was gibberish.

I am on the same boat, my closed work permit got canceled( my company had raised a request for it) because my BOWP got approved.
I have already given the biometrics but I haven't heard anything about my PR decision yet and I am an anxious person so I am already losing my mind. lol. Just want to make sure I have a Plan B in case it goes downhill.

It means you are a temporary resident until a decision is made about your permanent resident application. With your bridging work permit, you can continue to work etc and remain in Canada.
