If I have employer specific work permit,

1. Can I take my spouse and kids along with me? If Yes then on what visa, If No then when can they enter Canada?
2. Can my spouse work there?
3. Can my kids start studying? Do they require study permit? If yes, then can we apply from within Canada?

Experts please help

Thanks!!!

Not sure about spouse, but when I had 3 years open work permit, I have my son traveled with me on travel visa. Officer in airport attached a slip on his passport, with the same validity date as my work permit. But in order to get into the country, I received for him a visitor visa. Special permit was given to him in the airport by the officer, as i mentioned.

They can come with you for sure if your occupation is in NOC 0, A or B. You can apply for permit for them at the entry but you can apply before you come to Canada. Be sure you prepare every important documentations with you. Job offer, proof of education....

1- Yes you can bring your wife and kids along. They will be on something called a visitor's record if you are under an approved NOC.
2- Yes, she can apply for an open work permit if your job is classified under an approved NOC.
3- Yes your kids can study in Canada. Depending on their age, they wouldn't need a study permit if they are in the K-12 age because their visitor's record will state "Authorized to attend Pre-school/Primary/Secondary School....Accompanying XXXX". If they are college age, then they will have to apply for study permits.

Good luck!

Hi

1. YOur spouse won't be eligible for a spousal work permit.
Thanks.

Is she and children (2 kids - 6 years and 10 months) allowed to travel along with me to Canada.
If yes, how let me know how.
