From where I live (southern Ontario), FedEx was taking 2 days to Nova Scotia.
The same with the fastest Canada Post option.
Purolator was only one day guaranteed.

But you can check online for your location:
https://eshiponline.purolator.com/ShipOnline/Estimates/Estimate.aspx
Postal code for CIC office is B1P 5Z2 .

Also, it was only around $27, not $380 like someone posted in one of the topics.

guys,

UPS has an overnight service - why has no one mentioned it here? is there a problem with UPS?

also, Canada Post has a priotiy service to send things next day....any issue with that?

I'm just posting the stuff that I know.
I haven't checked UPS, I only examined FedEx, Canada Post and Purolator options (in this order).

At FedEx they told me their "overnight" is actually two days, "because it's Nova Scotia".
So I went to Canada Post and they told me that the fastest type will take 2 days.

Then I went to Purolator and they told me "overnight guaranteed" so that's what I used.
And they indeed delivered it the next day.

When you look at various tracker sheets and the delivery times,
you'll see that FedEx really does take 2 days.
Canada Post can be even longer (I guess some of them are other, slower, shipping methods),
and Purolator is usually 1 day. But I also saw entries with UPS, and it looks like it also takes 1 day.

Note that it can be different, depending on where the application is sent from.
For example I saw Purolator taking 2 days from Manitoba.

I just sent it out UPS from Toronto $40. As long as it was sent before 5pm today it has a guaranteed arrival tomorrow before noon (June 9th). Fingers crossed.

Nightmare experience at Purolator today. I seriously felt like punching the guy behind the counter, he was smiling and smirking everytime we told him that we need the package to be sent to Nova Scotia by the 10th and he was constantly telling us it would not get there by the 10th before his computer system showed if the application went in the mail today it would get to NS by the 10th. Then he started giving me this screwed up story of that specific branch of Purolator not offering Express 9 am, Express 10 am e.t.c. but the reality was IMO the guy just didn't know how to use the computer system and he kept on making such stupid wasting errors where he at times was not entering my address, other times he was not selecting receive signature and he kept on entering my order again and again until he had to get another guy to come and enter the order for him.

From Alberta all couriers including purolator take 2 days probably it is faster from ON.. As I was told by the authorized-ship store that the issue is that Sydney is not a major city that is why it takes longer to deliver there..but the good news according to them is that government get priority for their delivery before they close at 5pm!

I sent my application using Purolator.
I dropped it off on Thursday morning and they delivered it on Friday, around noon.
It was "guaranteed next day delivery". And I only paid $27 or so.

FedEx would take 2 days (and was also slightly more expensive).

I don't know about that $380 option - is it the same day delivery?

If it is sent on 10th, it would have to be delivered the same day.
If it's delivered the next day (11th), it will be too late.

Here are some scenarios:

If someone completes their 1095 days on Monday, the 8th,
they can sign and send the application on 9th with next day delivery
and have it delivered on 10th - all good.

If someone completes their 1095 day on Tuesday, the 9th,
hey would have to sign it on 10th, and have it delivered the same day.

I'm not sure if that $380 service does that.
But if it does not, they could fly to Sydney, NS,
and sign and ship it early in the morning on 10th from there - it should be possible to have
it delivered within hours (you cannot deliver it yourself, it has to be a courier).

Also, if someone completes their 1095 days on Wednesday, the 10th,
then it is too late. The application has to be signed the next day after completing 1095 days,
so 11th - which means new rules will already be in effect.

I don't know about that $380 option - is it the same day delivery?

It is called next flight delivery. I'm sure sometimes taking a flight by yourself may be cheaper. This option is there with Fedex too but will cost you $1500.

I wanted to check how fast I can get my application delivered. Puralator will give you the exact time it will reach the desitination. It is usually 5 to 6 hours if you submit it early in the morning as soon as they open.

They will also give you step by step timing like when will it reach the local collection office from where you posted it, Which flight and the time it will reach Sydney and also how long it takes for the local Sydney office to get and delivery time to the destination.

I hope this helps. Again $380 was a quote on that day.

If someone in this forum organizes and collects all documents and flies out to Sydney that may work out cheaper too.

10 applicants each 50 will give one person to fly in/out of Sydney.

a stupid question:

which is better - send it now to catch the june 10th deadline and get it processed using the current rule? or wait 6 more months (my case) to be eligable for the new 4/6 rule but get the fast processing they promised under the new method? any perspective?

my worry is that they promised to process anything received before april 1st by march 2016 but did not say anything about april-june applications? i am worried these will be second priority and may take longer to process...any perspective?

I sent my application on Monday via Fedex at 12:30 PM and it is delivered today 10:50 AM. I live 45 min to the north-west from Yorkton, SK and there is no office of FedEx in Yorkton. Lady from Purolator said they couldn't guaranty that my documents will be delivered before 5:00 PM on 10th and truck in Yorkton is delivering till 7:00 PM. Also Purolator system offered only express delivery without any other options which they have. So, I went to Canada Post main office in Yorkton and guy there said that they guaranty but that means they will just give me my money back if my documents will be there not on time. However, he advised to phone to some company in Melville (30 min from Yorkton) which make pick-ups for Fedex. Lady from that company was so helpful (I can't say the same about FedEx customer support in Vancouver, I phoned to them 2 times) and I met guy from that company which was picking-up parcels from Yorkton at 12:30.
So, if you live in a middle of nowhere try to find FedEx, even it can be difficult to do sometimes but it will be the fastest way to deliver your documents.

PUROLATOR IS A SCAM IN SAME DAY DELIVERY, They told me on phone and gave tracking number that they could send but in person, they denied.
