Hi Experts,

Need a small help..

I have stayed in Oman apart from India for more than 6 months.

Am trying to apply for PCC, need some more guidance on if I should apply for it after receiving ITA or start now. My score is 466.

Do I need to provide a Police Certificate for Express Entry?
Yes, but only after you submit your application. When you apply for permanent residence, you will be asked to upload a police certificate. Instead, you must upload a document that states: “I am applying from a country that requires an official request letter from CIC to get a police certificate.”

CIC will then review your application. If it is otherwise complete, we will send you more information on how to get a police certificate. Please read the instructions above for more information."

Yeah did read that... But wanted to understand if I can start the process before ITA.. Because I have some relatives there who can help me.. I am under the notion that if I start the process of receiving the ITA.. things may get delayed and may lose out on time.

Did you get the ITA? And did you upload the Oman PCC? I too was in Oman, I have the PCC with me but not sure if I should upload or wait. As incomplete documentation leads to rejection in express entry.

Hi SN11,

Since I was Oman before the age of 18, I will not be showing it as a part of my documentation. Yes I got an ITA and I am in the process of submitting the application.

Hi M,
You mentioned you were in Oman for 20 years, so even if you were born there you would have lived there above age 18, wouldn't you need to show it then? Coz I guess for any country where we lived more than 6 months above the age of 18 we must declare it.

How long does it take to receive PCC via email? I sent my documents and paid the fee because I am attempting to obtain PCC via email, but I have not received a response in 15 days.

It took 25 days for me and I received today, hope you got your too
