Do I need to include details of old passports in eAPR (in the section ID Documents-Summary), or only my current passport?
I have several passports going back to childhood. How far back do I need to go?

Also I've changed my name before and an old passport was therefore cancelled and updated with a new (my current) one. What do I enter as the expiry date for this old passport- as the stated expiry date is in the future- but the passport itself is cancelled (no stamped cancellation date).

Wouldn't I need to show at least one of my older passports, as since I've changed my name in the past (I have to provide legal documentation for this).

Also, is it sufficient to upload the information pages only, or do I need to scan every page which has a visa/stamp?

Thanks for your help.

1 - You can if you want to, but if your name differs from other documents such as degrees and ref. letters you need a "one and the same person" affidavit and a LOE.

2 - No, scan every page with visa/stamps

Cheers ;)

Thanks for your reply!
1. I have such an affidavit, but I do feel that I need to provide an older passport to establish my identity. The question is, if I'm providing old passport details, do I need to provide all of them?

2. What about expired biometric permit cards as this is effectively a visa? These were taken back by the country in question. Will I need to explain in LoE why I don't have a visa in my passport for the period I claimed to be living in country x?

1 - If you feel like providing an older passport I reckon one would be sufficient.

2 - Better to play it safe and write a small paragraph in the LOE.

Cheers ;)

I know an applicant who had LOE of 26 pages and got PPR in 3 weeks.
Stanlee- does this mean that it's best to provide as much information and clarification as possible? I am also wondering what level of detail to give in personal history- every single club membership, voluntary work and part-time job ever held?

Use the LOE to explain anything that can be potentially misinterpreted or any other information which the officer should consider while reviewing your application.

In Personal History cover the major activity you were involved in for the period that you are mentioning. For example during a certain period of time while you are employed, you spend most of the time at work and you may also be a member of a club. So in the Personal History there is no need to mention anything about your club membership. You need to mention your club membership only if that was the major activity at that point of time in your life or major part of your time was spent in clubs instead of work, education etc. You need not go into that level of detail.

Thanks, this makes sense and just stating employment or study should cover my major (full time) activities. My only concern is with the following statement "List any organizations xxxx has supported, been a member of or been associated with at any time. Include any political, social, youth or student organization, trade unions and professional associations. " I have no problem giving this info, but it would result in overlaps in activities and a long list.

If you want to be really thorough, include anything that could have implications for your application, i.e. political parties, religious organisations, compulsory or voluntary military service.

Being a member of a local football club or heading up the car enthusiasts club is irrelevant to CIC.

Overlap is fine.
Thanks for clarifying, I appreciate it.

Another quick question- do I really need to show every visa and stamp in my passport? Although people on here have said yes, the guidance only asks for pages showing passport number, dates of issue and expiry, photo, name, date of birth and any amendments in name etc. They definitely do not ask for pages with visas and stamps.

As I am attaching several old passports, showing all visa and stamp pages will make the file size too big even with low resolution and may cause needless misunderstandings as I've moved between several countries that issued and took back card visas (when they expired).

Just to clarify for those who have the same question- it's not possible to enter old (expired) passports in e-APR; only those that are still valid (expiry date in future).
