Old NOC Code

Hi Experts -

1 - In My 2010 Work Permit Occupation is " EMBEDDED SYS SOFTWARE DESIGNER" and no NOC number is specified. I called to help line and they said its old work permit with old NOC code - 999 05.

What NOC code should I use while filling up my form , As New NOC code as been introduced ?

Please help here.

Just a another quick question ... For year 2012 my NOC code is 2174......

So while filling my application i will specify 2173 for 2010 exp. and 2174 for 2012 exp....
I hope this would be fine..........

Also the roles and responsibility in the employer letter is matching with current exp. ( 2174)......... I am having the same employer in 2010 and 2012.....

I hope there should not be any issues as 2173 and 2174 are very close in roles and responsibility.....

Pls. guide me experts.....

Use the NOC code that is most consistent with your main duties for each of your work experience. If in doubt, email the employment letter to HRDSC and ask if they would tell you the NOC code.

Unless it was 2 different jobs, just use one NOC code. Use the one on your most recent WP, since you will submit a copy of that.

Just another quick one - Do I need to provide two diffrent refrence letter........
I have same employer.....for 2010 and 2012................. Just two diffrent work permit and even roles and responsibilty is also same.

If the same person is writing the reference letters I'd suggest providing one letter covering both periods.
