Old Lady wanna visit Canada from USA

Friends.
Here are a few questions regarding Canadian and US immigration about visiting Canada.
Our family friend,72 years old US Green Card holder Lady,wanna, visit us for a year.
Does she need a one year visa or she can just come via train/bus from Niagra falls to Ontario??
In case if she get 3 or 6 months visit visa,can she extend while staying home??
Can she stay in Ontario for a year without extending visit visa??
Last question,She is in Pakistan now and her permanant green card expired two years ago.How can she Renew it.

If she is a green card holder, then she can enter Canada without a visitor visa. But as you had written her GC is expired so I guess she must renew it.

She should try the American Embassy in Islamabad.
