OLD APPLICATIONS.....?????

Hi All,

I am very much surprised and depressed as well to see a big silence about old applications. No one is talking about them. It feels like the old applicants are not human beings and they do not have the right to look forward for a good future for themselves and their children. The time might be running out for some applicants as their future plans are getting serious setbacks.

Seniors and all are welcome to make their inputs.

Regards
Bozica

Hello,

My life is completely in stand-by. I was supposed to get my medicals last January, but because of my lawyer who did not read an email from the visa office in November requesting for some completed forms.........I have lost 7 months waiting.....

I fully agree with you Bozica.

In view of the present situation and circumstances, I may have to give up my dreams of immigrating to Canada and joining other members of my family.(if nothing happens and moves before December2009)

It seems that Applicants who filed their applications before the New Laws have become second class applicants, and of course we are not getting younger.

Anyway, Man Proposes, God disposes. If that is what God wishes, then so be it. I am sure there is a life outside Canada as well.
All the Best!!

This is a good start to start the conversation about old application. I think its just quiet about the old application because most doubts happen when filling in the form so the new applicants have a lot more questions. Well done on waiting it out. I am sure you will go through soon. From where are you applying? Good luck.

If you are so disheart, why not withdraw old application and apply under new rules, its probably a extra expense submitting a new application but if you are under 38, you will be under fast track as others, i think paying one extra application fee will bring some good results that would be better then what you are feeling now. This is my personal advise only, i read several posts you can even run 2 applications at same time. So even you can keep continuo old one and start a new one. Good luck

Maharouf,
No I decided not to, hoping that something will happen in a couple of month's (say September09/october09).
My target is to immigrate in 2010 anyway. I had set a target of 30 Months (Maximum) for the whole process, which I think is very realistic from the country I have applied from. However, if that doesn't happen, I will have to abandon my plans.
Again, Man proposes, God disposes. Thank you for the Good wishes. How are you and any news?

Take a look at "CANGLOBAL'S" comments (an Immigration Consultant) on trackkit.com, after she came back from a meeting with the Canadian Immigration Services. Read about the answer she got regarding "OLD APPLICATIONS/APPLICANTS" - very disheartening and distressing. This is no criticism, It's just my view, It seems as if Canada is more interested in letting in the HB1 visa holders from America and of course the new applicants. Good for the Guys.
My question is, why did they send us letter's so early (Giving us false hopes), about withdrawing our cases now or forfeit the money paid if withdrawn at a later stage- At first, I personally saw that letter as a positive response from CIC and gave my consent immediately to go ahead- I hope you understand what I am saying. We didn't and couldn't have known at such an early stage what was going on as per the new rules. Now we are kind of stuck- Find it difficult to go either forward or back.

Hi, all. Guess nobody is talking about old applications is because we are unable to change the situation by talking about it. Someone in the Government section should review it and start doing something.

Well, what can you or me do?
I guess nothing, just sit it up, "init"?

Because,
1) Immigration is not a right.
2) The AOR Letters that were served had a wait time of " 42-48" Months. And, it had a clause in it, not to contact them for any reason other than change in Address and/or circumstances. (unless the above time period had elapsed-for any other reason).
3) The killer was the last letter, which asked us either to withdraw or give consent of our interest to go ahead with the immigration process. I am sure every applicant that received that letter must have said "emm, emm, no no , just go ahead and.....!!"
But again, It also had a clause saying, you will forfeit the fee from this point!! (If you withdraw after your consent).

Whilst obviously understanding and appreciating the contents of the Letter, time seems to be running out for most of us.

Good Luck to all "OLD APPLICANTS".
