Hello guys,

I'm applying to the French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream,
I have to pay the fees (1500$CAD) but neither my bank or postal office can make a payment in $CAD. It's all the time printed in Euros (€).

Did you get this problem? If so, how did you do?

Part I: Fees
The application fee for Ontario French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream candidates is $1,500.

The application fee is per application. The fee must be submitted with the application package, or the application will be considered incomplete and returned to you. All fees must be made payable to the Ontario Minister of Finance.

Payments must be made in Canadian dollars only. No other currency will be accepted.

Check the appropriate boxes to indicate the method of payment and the amount
enclosed.

Acceptable Methods of Payment:
 Money Order;
 Cashier/Certified Cheque;
 Postal Money Order; OR
 Bank Draft.

I am not sure from which country you are trying to apply for a foreign currency bank draft. If you can mention the country other people from the forum may be able to help you.

May be this link also could be of help http://personal.natwest.com/personal/ways-to-bank-with-us/do-more-with-online-banking/sending-money-abroad1/Foreigndraft.html.

I guessed so (shared the link based on that assumption), but wanted to double check :). No credit card payments are not accepted.

Unfortunately, credit card payments are not accepted.
Can you check at another bank, see if they will allow for a bank draft in foreign currency?

Hello All!!!

I encountered the same problem when submitting my application. I found that travelers checks are a good option. What OINP wants is a certified form of payment (a check that they know is already payed for). So what I did was purchase American Express travelers check in Canadian Dollars and I also attached the receipt of purchase in my application, to show them that I personally purchased them and that the funds in the check is already payed for and readily available.

Hope this helps!

Hello Cyril,

I called the bank back and even though they still told me it wasn't possible to get a $CAD check, I asked (insisted) to speak to someone from the international department.

Someone call them for me and then she apologized because it was possible. (Because the request "is not frequent", they didn't know)

She has sent the protocol to my counselor and I had an appointment with her to fill the forms to get it.

I wish you good luck ;-)

I tried to send you PM but I don't know if it's working, I don't see my reply.

My bank is "Crédit Agricole", but I've seen people using the "International department call" for other banks.
I think every bank can do it, it's just the fact that if they don't know how to do it, they will tell you that it's not possible.

It's a "Cheque de banque".
My counselor ask me an address but I gave her the address where I've sent the form (the postal address on the application guide).
