OINP-PNP NOC (2171), not there the list. Can i use other NOC?

Hello,
I have one query.
Currently the OINP programme has specified the NOC codes for this year's entry to Ontario.

The NOCS which will be preferred 2172,73,74 and 76.
My NOC falls under 2171( IT Consultant).

Should i change my NOC to other codes since they are slightly matching to my current job profile.
Will this create issues later on?

As i understand OINP is sending out invites to scores around 435 and mine's is 439.
This is a golden chance, hence i dont want to miss out

Hi Mayur,

Did you finally choose 2171 or did you change your NOC to one of those in Oinp list?

Mine is also 2171 but some roles and responsibilities are shared with 2174 as well.

Hi,
No luck so far mate.
This year i had scores of 445, my birthday came and it dropped to 440.
Also had a close shave in January when score was 438, but my PR agent had not activated my profile, so missed out that only golden chance for ITA.
Then came PNP but they have no 2171 in their list.
My NOC also matches with 1122 and 2174 but not completely.
I have heard that if you get selected lets say in 1122 & land in Canada, then you cant apply to 2171 or 2174 related jobs.
Dont know if this is real but read it somewhere.
