Hello, I want to apply for OINP and I was reading the requirements it states the following: Regional immigration: location of study (where you physically attended classes). I studied during the pandemic and classes were virtual, can I claim points for this? Appreciate your response
Same problem, can someone help us?

Send an email to ontarionominee@ontario.ca and present your case. I did the same and got the following response:

"As indicated on the OINP website, points for the Regionalization of Immigration: Location of Study Expression of Interest factor should only be claimed if you physically attended classes. If you were unable to physically attend classes due to Covid-19 related restrictions, you should indicate in your EOI where you would have been physically attending school were it not for the Covid 19 outbreak. Note that if invited to apply, you must provide proof (e.g., a letter from your institution, printout from the institution website, etc.) demonstrating you were unable to physically attend classes. This submission will be considered by the processing officer when assessing your EOI points. "

From the email I gather that with proper proof you can claim the points.

Best of luck!

I submitted my EOI just this week and selected the option of 'did not physically attended the classes' as I had enough points (53) already and did not want to complicate the case. Also, there was no facility in the EOI application to provide any proof (which I already had from the university) that if it wasn't for COVID I would have attended the classes physically. I hope my points are good enough to receive an invitation to apply.

Do I wait for the nomination to come through to submit all my documents or there is some interim stage when I can do that? I submitted by EOI and not sure what is the next step. Any guidance on the next steps would be much appreciated.
