It is still submitted in the status, but yesterday my employer received an email asking for additional documents

That is strange! I am not sure why they directly contact employer instead of you! Also did you submitted your application or your employer did it?
Can you tell which additional documents they asked?

from what I know if document is related to Employer then it will directly be asked to them and will not inform us.

My initial job offer was part-time and changed after some months of work, without another job offer. Because of that, I sent a letter from the employer confirming my employment condition, but the OINP didn’t accept it. They asked for a current job offer.

My employer sent another job offer yesterday, and today the status was updated to “Assessment”.

Nice! I submitted on December 24th.. its still showing submitted! not sure if anybody else have same timeline?

And my partner got an ITA in the last Express Entry CEC draw
I think we will go through CEC, and keep OINP on hold. Anyone else in this situation?
