I am currently here on a PGWP set to expire July 2016... I recently landed a full-time permanent job and my employer has agreed to submit an employer pre-screen form for me in order for me to be able to apply for OINP under the foreign workers category. This is of course assuming that the employer pre screen is approved by OINP.
Knowing OINP, they can take more than 90 days for the employer pre screen..... and my PGWP is going to expire in July.
My question is:
1) How can I stay in Canada and continue working when my work permit expires? My employer did not do an LMIA and it doesn't seem to be an option. I studied for 4 years and received a 3 year PGWP- Can I request for an additional year of PGWP?
2) If all goes well (crossing fingers) and if the employer pre screen is approved by May/June 2016 and I submit the OINP before July 2016, will i be able to apply for a bridging work permit? or extend my current work permit based on an OINP submission?
Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated. If you have been through this process, please share your timeline on things!
