Hello Everyone! ;D

I've seen scattered posts about OINP - Employer Job Pre-Screening application with timelines ranging form a couple of months to a couple of years. Please post on here your timeline and any experience/knowledge you might have to benefit others.

Here's my timeline so far:

Employer submitted application: Jan 4th 2016
AOR: Jan 6th 2016.
Still waiting on approval.

On June 13th I requested that my employer adds me as a representative to the application in order for me to do the leg work and follow up with OINP. I was getting annoyed with having to get my employer to submit these inquires (In my case he was the general manager of the Canadian operations at my place of employment). Also I needed to be on the application in order to ask for help from the MP.

Since then I've requested multiple status updates and I only hear back that the application is undergoing processing. I tried to get my MP involved but I haven't been able to expedite the process at all. Even the MP had no pull. Also I think a part of the problem is that the MP responsible for my region (Northern ON) does not have any experience/much knowledge with the PNP programs. Most of the time I find myself explaining in great detail the process, rules and regulations.

I'm really hoping to have a better idea on which applications they are currently processing. I know my application is one of the first ones in 2016 so I wonder how far behind they are considering that no new applications have not been received since May 9th 2016.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hello moelaghil,

My employer applied for pre-screening on Feb 3rd 2016 and didn't get any response yet.

I didn't ask my employer about AOR.
Could you let me know how does AOR be like and from which email employer get?

We sent emails for status updates but didn't get any response.
I graduated in August 2014 and will complete 2 years time within a month.
If I didn't submit within this time I might disqualify for the stream "International Student with Job Offer".

Our company is pre-approved for Ontario PNP [one of the colleague submitted in March 2015 and got approval Sept 2015].

Hey gowthamp!

In my case the Employer is the general manager at my place of employment. So the application was in his name. Therefore all correspondence went straight to him.

This is the letter that my employer received about 10 days after sending in the application I've replaced the alphanumeric characters with Xs and numbers with 0s. I also removed all of the personal information:

January 14, 2016
Employer's Name
Employer's Address

Case Number: XXXX-00-00000000 (XX)
File Number: XXXX-0000000
Organization ID: 00000000000
Company Name
Position: Engineer in Training
NOC Code: 2133
Dear Mr. /Ms. Employer's Name,
RE: Employer Pre-Screen Application Acknowledgement
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) received your Employer Pre-Screen application package on January 06, 2016. This application is currently being processed. You will be contacted should any additional information be required, or regarding the outcome of your application.
The standard processing time for this application is 90 calendar days from the date the application is considered complete. OINP will only respond to status enquiries after the processing time has passed. If you have not heard from us within the processing time, you may submit an enquiry in writing to this office for a case status update.
Thank you for your interest in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program.

This is the first time that my employer submits for PNP.

I applied as well through my employer.

An acknowledgement letter was sent to my employer on March 24th given that I applied in early January 2016.

My application is still under review...

Any idea on the last PNP update ? How would this affect our application ?

Hey Mostaphasamir,

Could you please confirm that the letter that your employer received on March 24th resembles the one I quoted below? Also can you confirm what date OINP received your application? You can see it in bold in the letter that I received (January 6th 2016). You said they sent the application early January of 2016 do you know the exact date they shipped it? How come it took 3 months to get the acknowledgment letter?

Now to try and answer your question. On May 9th OINP stopped accepting new Employer Job-Prescreening applications, but they will continue to process the one's they already have. When I got my MP involved she was saying that the Job-Preescreening applications sometimes take up a total processing time of 1 year and a half even 2 years! It really is ridiculous since PGWPs have a maximum of 3 years...

That being said if your employer receives an approval even this year you will be able to apply for nomination right away and OINP will not return your application. (I made sure my MP confirmed that with OINP once I heard the announcement on May 9th)

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hello moelaghil,

Under International student with Job Offer, Candidate has to apply within two years from the date on which they graduated.

Will it means Employer applying for Pre-Screen application or Candidate applying for PNP after Pre-Screen approval?

Thanks.

I would lie if I said I knew the answer to that. It would be a good inquiry to send to OINP. My company applied after I graduated by 5 months, I was almost certain I shouldn't worry about that... Now I'm not so sure.

Hello moelaghil,

My acknowledgement letter does not look the same as yours: it doesn't have NOC number.

I applied on January then they requested more document from my company this's why the acknowledgment letter was send on March 24 2016.

Now I am just waiting....

The problem is that when i will Hopefully get the pre-screen application approved, I still need to apply again the full package to get the nomination letter. This takes another "3 month" processing time.

I feel I should have applied without job offer :(

What do you think ?

Hey,

For myself this was the only way for OINP. I am not eligible under the Human Capital Priorities stream (I am not a Masters or PhD graduate and I didn't receive a PT invitation from the province for Express Entry Nomination). Which stream are you applying under? If you are eligible for another stream submit an application. I am applying through the International Student with Job Offer Stream.

I agree... This is ridiculous my company is currently in the 7th month of processing for the first application. After that application gets approved I have to submit for nomination which is another "3 months" of processing time. Once nominated then I have to apply for PR through a paper application since this stream is not a part of Express Entry (I won't get the 600 points in my EE profile). That paper application has a 15 month processing time according to the CIC website. I could see the International Student With Job Offer Stream easily taking more than 2 years for the nomination alone which would mean longer than 3 years to get the PR.

Try reaching out to your MP to see if they can help expedite the process, put some pressure and/or get you a status on your application:

http://www.lop.parl.gc.ca/ParlInfo/compilations/houseofcommons/memberbypostalcode.aspx?Menu=HOC

Yesterday I called OINP and somehow managed to get someone on the phone. He wasn't very helpful. He did mention that my company's application is in the second stage of three stages. Which means it has been handed over to an investigator. He couldn't get me any indication at all in regards to a timeline. I asked about which applications are they currently processing (As in applications received on what date) and he couldn't answer that either. All he said was sit tight, if the investigator has questions about the application he or she will contact the company.

Hello,

I have seen timeline of candidates who applied last year and it is really scary !

I am applying for "Master graduate student with job offer" this is the name of the stream which is similar to yours. The main problem of this stream is that they deal with your company not you...

Do you have a master or bachelor ?

I have applied for Master graduate student without job offer, I guess I would have been in better shape now.

Are you sure that if we get this Ontario Nomination letter we can not add it to the EE profile and gain the 600 points ? I was assuming that is the case...

So I assume that only Human Capital Priorities is the only stream that gives you the 600 points which are accepted by EE profile ?

If you are saying we have to complete the CIC application with paper-based type and with 15 month processing time, then it is not wise to relay solely on this stream buddy.

I will complete one year of experience in Dec 1st 2016, any advise on the best path to purse after that ?

Good Morning!

There is no stream named "Master graduate with job offer" there are two separate streams:
- International Student With Job Offer Stream - You can apply to this stream with a bachelors degree regardless if you have a masters degree or not. Given that your company is willing to file a job-prescreening
- Masters Graduate Stream - The main requirement is that you finished your masters program IN Ontario. No job offer needed.

Both of those streams are not Express Entry streams which means no 600 points when you get nominated. The only two OINP streams that will give you 600 points towards EE are:
- Human Capital Priorities Stream - You need at least 400 points in your EE profile. OINP will then send you a PT notification telling you to apply under this stream. You can't just submit an application without the PT.
- French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream

The proof is found here: http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNP_EE.html

Your employer and mine have submitted to the same stream. The International Student with Job Offer Stream.

I'm not relying on this application alone. I currently have a diploma and a bachelors degree along with my one year of post-graduate work experience I'm at 458 points for my Express Entry profile. People with that amount of points have been invited before. I'm waiting on two things. For OINP to re-open the Human Capital Priorities Stream so I can receive a PT and apply for nomination that way, or for the EE entry draws to lower the points selected to the previous thresholds. I would much rather the latter ;D

Hello,

You are right, I applied for International student with job offer although I had a master. I am seeing people who applied with as master grad without job offer are getting it...

I thought that would be better path to purse.

I did not know that the Human Capital Priorities Stream is closed now.

Do you have a link that says that it would take up to 15 month after getting the nomination ? this is so bad as my work permit will be done by that time...

I might be meeting with one from the PM office tomorrow...

Also : any idea how the last update on PNP website would affect out applications?
Are these documents required before or after pre-screen application approval ?
Or they should contact our employer if our application needs these supporting document(s) ?

thanks for sharing the knowledge....

Hey Mostaphasamir,

OINP stopped sending PTs under the Human Capital Priorities Stream in Feb. The intake pause was officially announced on May 9th. Here is the link to the news updates for OINP if you scroll down to May 9th you can read about it:

http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNPNEW.html

Applying for PR through paper application is a federal application therefore it's through CIC. Go to the following link and select that you are applying under "Economic Class" the application would be "Provincial Nominee" and finally when asked about if you are applying through Express Entry answer with "No"

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/

In regards to the latest update that OINP put out on August 2nd. It seems to be in regards to companies that recently amalgamated. The requirement to have been in active buisness for at least 3 years has always been there. I personally don't think my employer needs to submit any more documents, but I'm certain OINP will ask for any documents that they need.
