OINP Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream - Work Permit Expiring Soon!

Hi,

I need help. My friend was able to register for the ISS but his work permit is expiring soon. Is it possible to make the process faster or have his application processed before?

He registered yesterday and will submit his application. His work permit expires on the 22nd of October 2020

I read that he can email immigration to inform them about his situation. Is it worth even apply knowing that if the work permit expires, he will lose his job and not be eligible anymore. Please help!!!!

If nominated, it also come with WP support letter through which WP can be extended. If not the OINP cannot do anything in WP extension.

Hi.
I am not an expert but I think that if he doesn't apply he won't have any options left...while if he applies he will still have a chance, the sooner the better!
Also, I think he could apply for a "visitor" status just before his permit expires and probably take a 2 weeks leave while he gets his nomination. After that and with his nomination he can apply for his employer work permit.(probably he still won't have his answer for his visitor status by then)
Again, I am just a newbie here, probably someone else will go a little deeper.
