Hey guys... my immigration consultant gave me weird information about the Work Permit that you receive with the nomination.

She said that my company needs to enter a portal from Ontario, register the job offer there, pay a tax of 240 CAD and return to me with a number that I will use to get my WP linked to my company.

I haven't known about this... Did you guys need to do this?

It is a good question.
What I know is, if you have an open work permit valid you can use the letter to apply for the bridge visa, however, if you don't OR your visa is expiring you have to do what she said.

BUT IM NOT SURE.

Yes this is true. My employer is doing this for me. Its called Offer of employment number. It is a number starting with 'A' followed by 7 digits. This link is for the employer https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ice-providers/employer-portal/user-guide.html. Without this, a closed Work Permit cannot be applied under T13 LMIA exempt category (as stated in the Work permit support letter). If you already have an LMIA, this 'A' number is not required. It is only required for LMIA exempt candidates, like most of us, with a paper based provincial nomination.

why she needs to link WP to compay , open WP means its not linked to any company.
