Proposed regulatory amendments
The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development is proposing amendments to Ontario Regulation 422/17 (General) that will impact the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).
The proposed amendments would align the OINP with the new National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 system that is already in use by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and Statistics Canada (StatCan) as their official classification system. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will also be implementing NOC 2021 in November.
The implementation of NOC 2021 will impact which occupations are eligible for each OINP stream. Prospective OINP applicants are encouraged to review full details of the NOC 2021 system on the Statistics Canada website and on IRCC’s website, as well as to stay informed by following updates on the OINP website.
In addition to regulatory amendments to align with NOC 2021, the Ministry is proposing updates to language criteria for the Employer Job Offer Foreign Worker stream, education criteria for the Employer Job Offer International Student stream, and changes to the minimum amount for the OINP’s administrative monetary penalties.
The amendments are now posted on Ontario’s Regulatory Registry for public consultation.
Feedback on these proposed changes can be submitted during the consultation period which ends on September 30, 2022.

Dear members I will be going to start my Canada tourist visa process next month (October). So I have a question about my leaving time period, for vacation which month and date need to write in NOC. e.g. if we start the process in next month (1st October), so in NOC which date and month they will mention. Hello all,
I just graduated from my master's program at McMaster and started to work full-time now. Since I haven't lived 1 year in Canada, I plan to apply for the 'ONIP Job offer- international student' stream in Ontario ONIP program. If I cannot get drawn, can I switch to another stream, 'ONIP Master Graduate' then?
Apart from that, below is my situation.
- Graduate from McMaster manufacturing engineering master program;
- Got a job on Richmond Hill with hourly wage higher than 30 but less than 40;
- IELTS (7.5/7/6.5/6.5).
- NOC job code 1211 (suppy chain analyst).
Any suggestion on which stream I should target? 'Job offer-internation student' or 'Master graduate stream'?

To be honest, I'm thinking of withdrawing the application as another door has opened (Quebec).
I lose the fee if the application's already being processed.
Does anyone know if the 'assessment' stage means it's 'being processed' or is this the step before?

I also use the EOI calculator to calculate the scores for different stream.
- Job offer internal student stream: 78 scores;
- Master graduate stream: 39 scores.

Notifications of interest issued for Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream
On September 23, 2022, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued targeted notifications of interest to candidates who may qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream.
The OINP targeted candidates with a comprehensive ranking system score of 363 and above and work experience in the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes:
If you received a notification of interest, you don’t need to contact the program.

@Emil1 this is so sad. They could have just removed the tech NOCs from the french draw and do the separate tech draw.
But I don't get it. Is French that much in demand in Ontario? I thought it was mainly used in Quebec.
I just hope they they do conduct a tech draw soon even though they've included the tech NOCs in this french draw. Once reason for this hope is that they've conducted a draw other than Skilled Workers.
I think they they've actually applied all those filters just to invite only a few people, they invited only 363, against the 1500 people that they've invited in the last FST draw... This year is the year of FST for OINP
Let's just hope they do a tech draw soon man. This year. I'm at 464 waiting for it hope they don't increase the score.
