February 21, 2017So we all guess that Ontario will start to issue NOI early 2018. When was it open this year (early 2017) ?
And on the other hand there are official reports which show that large percentage of newcomers struggle financially. I read them months ago and I am surprised they do not increase the official limits. Easy to say for me as I've declared even more, but I can't imagine how stressful this must be for all of those who have sold everything they had in their home country, came to Canada and their live is not as good as they expected. That is possible, although there is nothing in the OINP materials that indicate funds amount is a factor. But FWIW, I received NOI on July 11, the day after I registered for EE, and I declared 60k POF. All of my other info and timeline are in my sig. However, I have also read that at least as far as CIC is concerned, they don't care about your funds or net worth for EE as long as you have at least the minimum POF required.
I think it would be nice if we could get extra points for having more funds and especially net worth available (especially since keeping too much of your wealth in cash is not a good way to build wealth). As you point out, the more money we immigrants bring into the country the better it is for the country, and the more likely you will be to do well financially as an immigrant. I'm not sure why they don't give us extra points for having more wealth, but they don't. Maybe because that would give older people and people from wealthier countries (such as the US and UK that have higher cost of living and currencies worth more than the Canadian dollar) too much of an advantage (and it's easy for me coming from the US to advocate favoring candidates with higher net worth). As you note, some people from the countries that are less wealthy and have weaker currencies need to sell everything they have just to come up with the minimum required funds, but they do have the skills to succeed after settling in Canada. And on the other hand there are official reports which show that large percentage of newcomers struggle financially. Thanks @jkriek123 for your reply.Hi JingleBells, erridja100
I'm not sure about the 'within 30 days of AOR' bit. I had a PFL on 22 September, replied on 26 September and got AOR on 5 October. It has been more than 30 days and my status is still showing 'awaiting information'. I have called them and did not get anything useful out of them..
I was planning to call them again later this week, but no need anymore as I got nominated yesterday! My status changed very quickly from 'awaiting information' to 'decision in progress' to 'approved' - all in a couple of hours! All the best to everyone still waiting for a decision - I hope it comes soon! Thanks @jkriek123 for your reply.
Did you get a chance to ask them, that now that have accepted new applications and shall surely be processing them as and when received what would their timeline be for old pending cases?
I called them a few days back only didn't seem appropriate to call back so soon to ask this.
Cool. Done. Thanks. There is randomness in the selection process, or we may think there is. If they see two candidates with the same score and one declares 20k savings and the other 50k, why would they pick randomly? Immigration is about economic growth and the more money you bring in with you the better for the province. So I say: if you can declare more, declare more.
Just my 2 cents.
I did. Selected "all provinces" and received NOI in less than 24h. July 2017.did anyone received NOI from Ontario in NOV 2017,are there high chances if we select ONTARIO only instead of ALL TERRITORIES AND PROVINCES
