Yes I do agree with you, one should anticipate that IELTS will expire. In my case, I already took another IELTS right before I got nomination, however this new score is decreasing my CRS below 400. I already got ITA and trying to submit my application before 10 Jan as that's when my first IELTS is expiring(the good one).

I might do the IELTS on the 21st of Jan as the one on 7 Jan is already booked. But if I can't get a better score again, I might be screwed as I will be traveling for the coming months, so no chance of doing another IELTS after the one on 21st of Jan and March would be my deadline for post-ITA submission.

Hopefully, in my case, if my PCC from Australia comes through before 10 January, I'll be able to submit everything before my IELTS expires. One might ask why didn't I apply for this PCC in advance. Well, because I will be visiting Australia again, and not knowing when the nomination would come through, it wasn't worth it as I would then have to reapply for another PCC again because I visited the country again.

I hope sharing my experiences here might give some insight to others in similar situations, mostly those waiting for nominations. There's more to life than sitting here and retaking IELTS over and over again or anticipating nominations, IELTs expiration, etc...
My suggestion is for you to book your IELTS on the 21st and study hard so that you get the required grades. Don't sit around hoping for your PCC to arrive from Aussie land as Sod's law states it will arrive on the 11th...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not cheering against you, in fact I really hope it arrives today for your sake, but the only thing you can control now is the retaking the IELTS and you don't want to wait until the 11th to try to book and find out that the 21st is now full also. I bet you're already beating yourself up over not booking the original one sooner... Don't leave this one to the last minute.

Good luck and I really hope it works out for you.

Here's a scenario:

Let's say you received ITA and got 90 days to submit, but your original IELTS is about to expire. You retook your IELTS 5 times within those 90 days but failed to maintain your CRS above 400 due to lower IELTS. Assuming OINP does remove your nomination(because you have to let them know when your IELTS expires), why can't OINP eventually give you back your nomination when you eventually get a better score at IELTS #6 within those 90 days.

*For simplicity, let's assume that there are 2 IELTS per months and disregard the 13 days wait time for results to come out, so roughly 3 months(90 days) = 6 IELTS. So basically, your last attempt at IELTS, you managed to increase your score above 400 and you are still within your 90 days limit, but OINP removed your nomination. This is the part that is not clear in any of their documentation. If you are back to square one again, that would be disgusting; paying $1500 again + the long waiting time to process another OINP application.

Logically, they should just accept your e-APR with whatever valid IELTS even though this new score brings your CRS below 400.

P.s I am not really asking this question cause multiple people already gave their opinions on the matter and this morning, Raj also gave his opinions. If you already answered this, please disregard my reply cause I just wrote the above for open discussions only among us.

I am just trying to make people aware of this potential issue(IELTS) given the long processing time from OINP. I am not yet in this situation and I hope no one has to go through this.
Hi TLOU,

You must have already thought about this option. If you decline your ITA, wouldn't that work for you? Your OINP nomination is valid for 6 months. Meanwhile, you will get more time to improve your IELTS score. Once you have improved IELTS score, you can go further with ITA processing. I don't have much insight of your problem, but just a thought if it helps you.

Thanks.

It could work, but my EE profile expires on the 7 of Jan 2017. So, if I decline the ITA, it will expire automatically. I'll have to recreate a new profile and request OINP to transfer. By this time, I wouldn't have a valid IELTS cause my new IELTS brings my score down.

But thanks for your idea. Always appreciated this community for help!

if you have received the ITA, do NOT decline it... if ITA is there on your profile and its still valid, then your profile wont expire.
only when you decline an invitation you go back into the pool, and then if profile expires, you need to create a new one.

regarding IELTS, bro you need to be careful... becoz these days 40% of all ielts test results are not revealed in 13 days as they go for "further verfication" or something, meaning your result will be delayed by another 1-4 weeks... i wrote ielts twice late last year, both times result was withheld pending further investigation... once it took 2 weeks to get result, other time more than that...

to others - if your IELTS is due to expire in the next 3-4 months, best to book a date and write it again... i gave myself enough time to write my ielts exam twice, incase i didnt do well the first time around (which is what actually happened ha ha)

on another note - werent there any nominations yesterday in the group ??

Hi TLOU,

You get 30 days to recreate new EE profile. So you can buy some time, if your EE profile expires. If you get good score on 21st JAN IELTS test and results are declared in time (in most cases they are declared on 13th day of exam), declining ITA may work for you. Keep it as last option and give your best for IELTS.

ONIP also takes time to transfer nomination. Moreover, if your IELTS results are delayed, you can mention it in LOE with proofs.

My express entry profile is going to expire on 16 Jan 2017 , and my application is in decision phase since Dec 05, 2016 (was told the same on telephone on Dec 05). I'm just wondering if I quickly withdraw my Express entry profile and re-create a new profile and update the OINP , so that in case of a positive decision my 600 points will be added directly to my new profile thereby averting the hassle of transfer of points should my profile expire before I receive an ITA. Any thoughts on this guys?

Actually, this has potential... if you decline before the 10th you profile will expire before your IELTS, so it will expire above the 400 mark.

Retake your IELTS and recreate your profile with new and improved IELTS. Then ask OINP to transfer your nomination to the new profile.

Come to think about it I think this is your best option as you won't fall below the 400 mark at any stage and hence won't risk having your Nom withdrawn.

You will however have the added headache of getting OINP to transfer your Nom, but that's probably better that risk losing it altogether.

If you do this what will probably happen is you'll get a NLA email (as OINP will probably ignore the email you send with your new profile details) and you'll need to resend the information. There have been reports of people that have been in this situation for nearly a month waiting for some good soul in OINP to link their NoM to their new profile.

If you wait you MAY get a NOM in the next few days and there will PROBABLY be a draw before the 16th so you MAY get an ITA before your profile expires (in this case you're safe as it will no longer expire).

My opinion is that recreating your profile will give you a head ache with regards to getting OINP to transfer your app to you new profile, whether you do this now or when it expires... so why not wait and hope you get a NOM before the next draw?

Up to you though, if you're sitting idly in front of you computer just refreshing your email every few seconds then recreating the profile might give you something to do ;-)

Hey! Well I have gone through the same phase. My file was with investigator on 27th Dec, not even in the decision phase(talked to the operator). However i had recreated my new profile on 17th Dec two weeks prior to the expiry and conveyed this to oinp the same day.But I didn't get any acknowledgement for this. And on 30th dec i got NLA status. Most probably that email would have gone unnoticed. So, I resent the email with the new profile details on 30th itself. And within 24 hrs i got the nomination in my new profile!

I would recommend to wait till expiry. Creation of new EE profile will give you additional chance to review your new EE profile in detail, as it is the one which will be assessed by CIC. If corrections are required in EE profile then better to do it before nomination.
