Ohip for new permanent residence ?

I see that ohip doesn't start for 153 days in ontario. In the meantime , any advise for travel insurance, emergency medical insurance etc for spouses?

OHIP starts 3 months after arrival.

Also, they count month, not days. For instance, if you landed on Jan. 31, 2018, your OHIP would start in the beginning of April, not 90 days after you landed. I got this info from the New Comer Help Center.

I'm using them for my family. I had looked into something else that was going to be close to $2000 for the three months . This is $300 and covers my husband and three kids .

Not correct, at least not for Ontario. Many other provinces do it this way, but OHIP is 90 days no matter what.

The OP is possibly confusing 153 day requirement in each year in any 2 years before someone plans to leave Canada for 7 months or more in any 12 month period
