OHIP after getting AIP

My spouse sponsored me inland and I received my AIP today. I need to know am I eligible for OHIP now? Can I apply forOHIP if yes... what is the procedure...

Take the AIP form, and necessary docs from this list, and go to any OHIP office to apply. http://www.forms.ssb.gov.on.ca/mbs/ssb/forms/ssbforms.nsf/GetFileAttach/014-9998E-82~1/$File/9998-82E.pdf

You will need to wait 3 months until coverage becomes effective.

According to Service Ontario, which I just called minutes ago, February 19, 2015, You do not need to wait 3 months after receiving AIP. You are eligible immediately after you apply for OHIP.
