I'll talk to US immigration and customs. There's gotta be an easier and more long-term solution that the I-94 :)
That would be more than annoying that every time I cross the border I have to make sure that my I-94
is still valid and if not wait in line at immigration again and get another one, having my friends and girlfriend ( canadian citizens )
waiting in the car..
Well, we also go through the same process as yours (I-94) every time we enter the US. The only difference is that we need to have a valid visa on our passport, while that is not required of you. Having a 10-year visa doesn't change it...

I am not sure if you know but even though I (and citizens like me) have a 10 year visa, we are authorized to stay in USA only for 6 months in one year, after which we have to leave. But if I am to understand this correctly, you get to stay in US only for 90 days? In order to get a longer stay, more than likely you will have to have this authorized by a visa officer before you can enter USA.

Good luck with US Immigration! :p ;)

I understand that but if he wants a visa with duration longer than 90 days, he has to have this authorized by a visa officer before he can enter USA.

^But he's from a visa-exempt country, no need for that if the intent is tourism.
All others (e.g. work-related: L or H) Toby will be needing these.

Not looking for a visa that allows me to stay longer than 90 days, I was just looking for a simpler
solution to enter the US :) As every time I travel with my girlfriend and my I-94 is expired
I have to get another one and have her waiting in the car.

BTW, even if you are given a longer end-date, once you exit, that date is no longer valid.

Correct me if I'm wrong Toby, but is your intent to have a longer "until date" so you can come and go within the validity?

Correct, I'm looking for something that allows me to enter/leave the US for more than only 90 days, so I don't have to
worry about the I-94 every time I cross the line to gas up my car. I only live 10 mins from the border.

Understood. I am sure they might a solution for this and it is probably requesting for a tourist visa with a duration longer than you are normally entitled to, which saves you the hassle of getting a new I-94 every time you travel to the states.
