Hello All!, it has been a long time I haven't been around this forum and I now need an expert help with this inquiry. I have accepted a job offer offshore but I am still holding my PR card and awaiting for my 55th Bday this coming December so I can apply without having to go through and paying for the english test and all other requirements. As a PR card holder do I need to report anything to CIC in order to leave without a worry when I come back?. Please any expert advise will very much appreciated.

Your post does not mention it at all, but I am guessing it to mean you are applying for citizenship.

You don't need to report anything before leaving Canada. You can wait to apply for citizenship after your 55th birthday so you don't need to submit language proof, as long as you've fulfilled the physical residency requirement of 1095 days in Canada in the last 3 years from the date of your application.

Hello Bellaluna, thanks a lot for your response. Yes, you are correct. I missed to say citizenship after the word apply. I might be leaving Canada after my 55th Bday so I might be able to submit my application right after that. My only question is if when you leave Canada still being a PR card holder for a longer period of time whether you have to let CIC know or not, that is the only thing I am not too sure....Again thanks a lot for your quick response.. Any also, yes, I have been in Canada long enough to comply with the physical residency requirements...

You do not need to notify CIC you are leaving the country.
