Hi,

I'm currently working in Canada and one of the request is to submit a:
1. Letter of offer
2. Letter of employment

plus reference letters.

What would be the difference in 1 and 2?

Thanks

Do you have a valid job offer? Are you claiming 50/200 points? Do you have LMIA or a employer specific work permit?

Yes. I've already been working for over a year with the same employer who provided me with the work permit here
Yes I am
I have a emplyer specific work permit (LMIA exempt)

Disregard the posts that say the job offer must be permanent (that was only the case before Nov 19th changes).

Will your employer give you a letter stating that you'll be employed with them for at least a year (after you become a PR)? That's what's required in the "Letter of Employment" section.

Hi. It seems like the Letter of Employment is issued as a current letter to prove that you are working in the position in the Offer letter. But this is also in many ways similar to Reference Letter of the current job you are in.

My understanding is that the Letter of Employment is a letter that simply confirms your current employment - (i.e - a employer verification letter)

Check your document checklist to see if there are any specifics required.

For those specific LMIA exempt cases, Letter of Employment must explicitly indicate that the person has been working with that organisation for at least 1 year AND that the organisation will continue to employ them for at least 1 year from the time the employee gets their COPR/visa.

Offer of employment is a letter which was issued before the employee started working for this employer. It explains why this job didn't require an LMIA in the first place.

Either or both of these letter must clearly specify job responsibilities (for NOC identification purposes) and other details as required by IRCC.

Hi DelPiero like most who posts about this topic there's no explanation given for Letter of employment. Only details on offer of employment and reference letters

Google "letter of employment" and make sure you include the information given by Avisad.

In Avisad I trust.

Thanks guys

Reference letter (current employment) has some components of letter of employment but I guess it needs to be worded to proof you are employed. Thanks

Hi Asivad,

In my reference letter it also speaks of the current employment date, permanent job and salary & benefits. It also states the job responsibilities.

So my question is, in your opinion should the letter of employment also repeat the job responsibilities? It would be a repeat. Or do you suggest I summarize it in letter of employment?

Thanks guys!
