Hello all, I'm preparing my application to be submitted next week. I had a few questions:
1. Does the physical presence online printout have to be signed?
2. My spouse has a 1 month gap in her passports. I just said in the space provided that her passport renewal was delays due to covid backlogs and she did not travel overseas during that time. Is this sufficient?
3. Same for my kid who was born in 2017 and got his passport in 2018. I just mentioned that he did not travel overseas till 2018 when he got his passport. Is this sufficient?

Take it from a Nov 2021 online applicant. DON'T APPLY ONLINE.

Apply using paper, send them everything. Copies of your passport, language test, good photos everything. You'll be done by the end of Jan.

Actually, the IRCC website clearly asks everyone to apply on paper only if they are not eligible to apply online. Paper applications will not always be prioritized as they are looking to digitalize the process. This would be illogical to always prioritize paper applications as most people will continue to apply on paper and they will not be able to clear the backlog of paper applications and pivot towards digitalizing the process.

While they do say that, the official documents from IRCC suggest that paper will continue to be prioritized for the foreseeable future. I'm just relaying my experience applying online. Anyway, from my signature you'll see that I'm almost at the finish line and just have to get the oath invite. So yeah, eventually everyone will get there it's just a matter of whether you want to wait 4-5 months or 12+ months like myself and several others in the forum.
