Thank you, any tips for the oath? Mine is this coming Thursday 15th @ 1:30 pm Toronto Time.

Thank you in advance of your reply.

It'll be quite long, you will need the basic stuff listed in your invitation ie scissors, your PR card and some other form of identification ( I used my drivers license) at this point you’ll cut your PR card then the waiting begins I’d say just mute yourself and chill for about 30 mins. Because it gets awkward staring at all those other faces for 30 mins. Mine was the Scarborough office or Toronto so I am not sure if my certificate will come quickly as the officer said I’ll get it within 1-4 weeks. Good luck

Thank you. How long was the ceremony?

Hey Everyone, does anyone know how soon can we get the citizenship certificate after the oath? if we mention we require it urgently do they consider that request?

unless it's for job purpose, they won't consider urgent request. I showed my flight tickets they didn't consider or, asked me to change oath date. It takes 3 weeks currently. One week to print them, one week to prep for sending, and one week with canada post.

I saw this YouTube video of a lady who had her oath with the same judge I had mine with. She got her certificate in 6 days!!! I don’t know if that’s realistic but that was the Toronto office I think.

I had a good group. It took a while before the ceremony actually started, about an hour. So people started talking about their pets, how they got into Canada, where they were from and joking about the weather lol. The actual ceremony was about 30 mins.

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone knows the different stages of citizenship applications.

I passed the citizenship test in July, but nothing else has changed since then.

Is it true that when you get the invitation to do the citizenship test, you have passed all the other requirements or have I got this wrong?

Thank you

For me I passed the Citizenship Test in July, I then waited till all 'Other' indicators including Physical Presence, Language, & Prohibitions were set to 'Complete'. It was only then that I got my citizenship oath email.

Please see my timeline in my signature.

Thank you for your help.

My question is, does passing the citizenship test indicate that you are close to passing all the other requirements or these are not related to each other?

Hi Everyone, my wife's online portal says everything is completed as of 14th November except Oath ceremony. Its almost 1 month and no update on Oath Ceremony. Any idea how long will it take to receive oath invite? We have travel plans for February 1st week. Thinking should be rescheduled?

My wife applied online on 11th October 2021.
