The second invitation email came today about Citizenship Test on March 18-April 8.

Hi guys! My partner submitted his citizenship application online in October 2021. AOR received in January 2022. He received an email from IRCC in early February asking for an explanation for having a gap between 2 passports (he recently renewed his passport but the issued date had a small gap of 7 days because it was sent to his home country and returned here). The email did not really give an instruction of how to submit documents so he replied directly to the IRCC email and also submitted the documents through the web form. They acknowledged the documents from the web form but his online application status still says "waiting on you". It's been over 6 weeks. Should he be worried? How to contact IRCC to make sure they don't return his application as he already submitted what they asked? I would appreciate any advice. Thank you!

Hi everyone.
I received the AOR for my application on Jan 31, and along with it an email asking me to respond why there was a 30 days gap between my 2 passports.
I responded right away following the instructions, and explained why and that I didn't leave the country at that time, but the application status still just shows "waiting on you".
Does anyone know if this is normal, or if maybe there's another way to respond with these additional informations?
The email did say that I should reply to it with the explanation.

Thank you!

Hi erik_oliveira My partner is in the exact same situation. Did your application status change or does it still say "waiting on you"? Thank you!

Seems like IRCC is picking up speed. Friend of mine got AOR in month and a half (January 2022 applicant). Hopefully with the relaxation of Covid measures and return of federal employees to offices, processing time becomes shorter and we start seeing faster test/auth invites.

When did you give your test if you don’t mind me asking?

As I said before, they sent us new test window ( March 18 - Apr 8) , so my spouse decided to do it right away and test was done yesterday, March 18, 2022. After test was submited and button "send me email' was clicked, above mentioned confirmation email came that the "Citizenship test completed " .
The next day, today, March 19 is nothing updated online, the status is the same - "in processing". So, we just wait.

I would like to add that my spouse spent about 3 weeks studying the booklet and the actual test took like 5 minutes, plus 3 minutes to double check the answers. Maybe it sounds easy, but after a hard work to getting ready.

Does it make sense to submit a web form inquiry to check the application status and reasons for not moving ahead? My application is still in progress and for my wife and son the BG completed in January. Since then no updates.

You will not get a response to a web form for 4-5 weeks at least, if at all.

Thank you wksj. So it doesn't harm to submit a request?

There is no harm is submitting the request as such, it is always good to try. They might just say it is within normal processing time though, but give it a try.
