Good morning all,

Please update the file:

Citizenship Application
Single - Online
Office - Calgary, AB
App sent: Oct 1, 2021
AOR: Jan 26, 2022
BG Check Completed: Feb 26, 2022
Test done: May 14, 2022
Language, Physical Presence and Prohibitions Completed - May 20, 2022
Oath Letter - May 24, 2022
Oath Ceremony - Jun 15, 2022

Note: I started asking for the GCMS notes every Friday since my BG was completed. That is a tip I got from my friends from college that they got their citizenship in less than six months. I didn't believe that it would work, and it seems that it did. They told me that the immigration officer or case processing agent needs to check your file before sending the GCMS notes, and if everything is done, they need to make a decision. They can not take any retaliation for asking for the GCMS notes; it is a right we have as Canadian Permanent Residents. I know that you can even ask for these notes every day, but that would be pointless.

Thank you, I have requested one today. Fingers crossed. Congratulations. How long does it take to get GCMS notes?

I can say you will get DM in next 3-4 weeks max and Oath by July. Similar timeline as my wife. Her BG was completed by Feb 4th and test done close to May 5th. DM on May 18th. I am seeing the pattern where the process is completed within 3-4 months after BG is marked completed.

Thank you! I am encouraged by the time line you’ve given. I haven’t been able to sleep so much waiting on the test results. Lol!

Language, Physical Presence and Probitions are still in progress. I always check more than once a day especially when I see updates like this even when I was applying our PR many years ago. It’s a mix of excitement and anxiety for me.

Yours will have an update soon. The fact that we are seeing movement in the files for those with similar timeline as ours shows they’re working on our applications.

I had anxiety checking my app coz we applied together and she has DM and I am on processing for 3 items. I was asked for FP and just got BG completed on May 7th. So I am assuming, it will take 2-3 months for me further down the lane while she should have her oath sometime by June.

Oh. So it’s not gonna be at the same time for oath taking for you both?

They sent a request to my hubby for additional documents sometime in February for proof of language skills. We did email them but the part that says additional information required is still not updated. That is causing some anxiety for me.

I do not think we both will have oath at same time, for myself and my daughter it shows IN PROGRESS on Ecas and for my wife it was DM around May 12th (approx). So she will have oath sooner compared to both of us, unless they decide not to get her to Oath until other family members are finalized from same application. I have seen instances on forum where different family members got decision made at different times. It may be usual for IRCC but it will be unusual for us as a family coz we applied together :P.

I have the same timelines. Test given on April 9 , updated on April 13 and last activity online shows April 25. Nothing after that.
