I believe they just started this new process that BG need to completed before Test invite but not sure though. I called them last week as well, they just said wait for correspondence regarding next steps and it should be test. I did ask about background she said its in progress and you will get to know once it’s started and completed. I did not ask about the components Criminality and Security. I should have asked them, will do if there are no updates.

When did you submit your application?
Thanks for responding back!

application submitted October 16th.

Hello, just wondering, how long was the wait time when you called them? Also, around what time did you call? Thank you in advance!
In my case it wasn’t that long, 3mins to be connected with agent. You need to try calling a number of times to get thru. Took me around 10 attempts to be connected. Always call 8am sharp, chances are high that you would be connect pretty fast.

Thanks
did you ask proactively for two components of background check or they told you about the status?
Yes… you got to be prepared with your questions to get precise answers. Feels like they are under instructions not to divulge too much info. The agent I spoke with was nice enough to elaborate a tiny bit more when I asked about specifics.

nice, I asked about the local office ( Primary Sydney and Local is Scarborough) and asked about next steps she said please wait and it could be test invite.
I did not ask the question for BG precisely, I should have . She was nice though as I was more concerned about the duplicate application system was creating but she assured me there was only one application and there is a note on the file as well for one application.

Quick share on Oath experience:

1215 Scheduled time

1200-Logged in to zoom, changed Name to seat number XXX, XXX, XXX (family) - waiting to get into the main room
1220-We were all in the main room, (host will MUTE ALL); she gave an intro, and asked to prepare, Scissors, PR card, one ID
One by One we were brought to a breakout room, for pre checks
1250-we were in the breakout room, she checked everything needed, address, PR card, ID, asked us to cut the PR card into 4 pcs
1255-brought to Post check Room, waiting for everyone to get prechecked.
0110-everyone was already checked, ceremony starts
0110 to 0145 oath taking ceremony - oath was in english and french + singing of the national anthem (judge gives talk as well as 2 other guests, short video on canada, short video on PM welcoming new citizens) ; selfie time with judge and 2 guests and anthem singer
0145-post ceremony reminders on signing of the oath of citizenship
--Leave meeting---

**during Oath, the only time everyone is unMUTED in the ceremony, be aware that a small whisper is not a whisper in ZOOM, everyone can hear it, make sure there are no kids screaming at the background, or side conversations, always listen to the judge,, the only time to talk is during oath.
the judge was disrupted many times by side conversations, or kids talking or screaming, but she was so professional

thank you- hoping for a speedy and smooth process for everyone.

Hello mafriend, congrats and thanks for sharing. I wanted to ask you, after you got the invitation for the oath, were you ever asked to input or confirm your current address? I am worried cuz I moved to a different place and I have tried calling IRCC almost daily to inform them, but the same dull recording keeps saying that “due to volumes they cannot even place the call on a hold”… so frustrating! I already have everything completed (got an update yesterday) and just waiting for the oath now. THANKS!

Hi kenjia01 can you let me where did you do the FP. Is it at an accredited fingerprint company or RCMP office?. I just received a FP request. Thanks
Yes, you have to go to a RCMP accredited fingerprinting company. You may try the commissionaires (link below). They have offices all over Canada. I haven't gotten FP request (yet), but used them for police certificates before.

https://commissionaires.ca/en/

I also have a pdf of the full list of RCMP accredited fingerprinting companies last updated in Feb 2022. Not sure how to upload that here.

You may also get a new list directly from RCMP by emailing: CCRTIS-SCICTR@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

Is it how the deadline is supposed to work? I am not sure tbh, but I called RCMP using one of the numbers on their website, don't remember how I found it though.
Yes, the deadline is for submission of fingerprints. RCMP often takes 2-3 weeks to issue the document to IRCC. Depends on their work load at the time of your submission.
