It´s not stressful or difficult for ALL of us. In fact, some people in this forum that submitted paper applications in January have already taken the Oath. OP has the right to vent and complain as much as they'd like because there is no respect for online applicants. Besides, it's not a zero-sum game; the fact that there are other people waiting for 2-3 years doesn't mean that the OP doesn't have the right to express their frustration if they feel they're being left behind.
Yes I agree we all have the right to vent... But IRCC hasn't mentioned they process applications in a specific order. These are all our assumptions. Specially BG checks take different times for each applicant based on their nationality, travel history, criminal history etc... I don't actually believe IRCC can ever process applications in a specific order.
Anyways, citizenship before COVID would take around a year on average and we as October applicant are not even passed the one year mark. That's why I'm suggesting to take it easy for now you never know you might get yours processed in 1 month all of a sudden...
If you look at people's timelines it is all different, some ppl get their test and still have to wait 5 months to get the oath invite and some get their oath invite after 2 weeks of their test submission! So it really varies a lot... Just nothing we can do really even if you go to your MP they're just gonna tell you what you see on the tracker plus suggesting you to be patient! So just relax and it will come the stress doesn't really worth it in my experience specifically that we are all PRs and nobody is going to kick us out...

Agreed. Completed test since 3 months and no update after that. OCT 21 paper applicant here. AOR Jan 17 , Test done April 9, Test marked completed April 25 and now silence. It's random.

Done with oath ceremony on the 5th. I'm now officially Canadian. Wishing all my peeps in line the best. I understand that individual cases are unique (some, faster processing, and some, slower process) but in the end, you'll all get there just as I did. Hang in there. The wait is almost over.

I applied on oct 12 and my friend applied on oct 19 , well he got the test invitation and I didn’t even had a single update on the process, is this just for me or is there a lot of people like this
You only have to glance at the spreadsheet to know there are thousands like you.

As someone here said, key is to stop believing in the myth that the progress will be chronological.

this is the reality of the canadian immigration system: no logic, disorganized, inefficient, without any transparency and fairness. Chaos.

I don't really get it. Why is it stressful or difficult? Honest question....

I get a long indefinite wait to become a PR can absolutely be stressful and difficult. But why the citizenship application?
Everyone has different life planning, goals and some of them rely on becoming Canadian ASAP

How would becoming a citizen affect your life planning and goals? The only ways I can think of:

1. Get a job where being a citizen is a requirement - in which case, you can apply for urgent processing. I have personally helped a friend do this and they got approved within 5 months of application.

2. Be able to leave the country and live elsewhere - in which case, you can leave, since the intent to reside in Canada has been removed as prerequisite for citizenship. You still maintain your PR for the next three years at least, by which time you should have obtained your citizenship. I have done this - moved to the US to be with my spouse. Yes, there are risks associated with this, but I don't see it as major, so long as one hasn't at any point misrepresented their intentions to IRCC. And regardless, this is on me. IRCC is under no obligation to process my application quickly to allow me to leave the country. I certainly don't think I have the right to complain when it has not even been a year since I applied and average processing time is 27 months.

3. Get citizenship to be able to apply for TN visa to move to US - Similar to last point, that's on you.... not something Canada is obligated to help you with because it was not the intent of them granting you your PR.

The only other way that I can see it affects us, is with regard to our ability to vote, and while this is important and a great privilege to have, I don't see how not being able to vote is stressful or difficult.

All in all, while an important status to hold, I don't see the delay in obtaining it causing stress or difficulty on us applicants. On the other hand I see the delays in grants of PR, especially for refugees and to a lesser degree applicants who live abroad in countries with less than ideal conditions, being absolutely stressful and difficult. I would happily wait 27 months to get my citizenship if it meant that those PR applications are prioritised.

Sorry long post, but hoping to put things into perspective here for some people feeling frustrated.

I totally understand your point but its not fair that Online applicants will be processed in 27 months whereas most of paper applications are processing in less than a year. Processing time of 27 months should be fore new applications but paper applications submitted after October also processed quickly than online applicants.
