What office is handling your application, if I may ask?

Yes. It is normal. It all depends on which Office and Officer is processing your file. Some people from 2019 are still waiting so only thing we can do is stay calm and patience. Hope you will receive test invite soon.

Thanks, K
Thanks, I guess these three will change after citizenship test is passed
Language Skills - In Progress
Physical Presence - In Progress
Citizenship Test - Not Started

Remaining will be

Generally speaking, only Citizenship Test will be set to "Completed" after the citizenship test.

Language, Prohibitions and Physical Presence will be set to "Completed" when a decision is made on your application (ECAS will show "Decision Made" status).

However, applicants in Quebec and 3 applicants in Brampton (specifically) saw a break in this pattern. For these applicants (for most of them), 2 out of 3 statuses (Physical Presence and Language) was set to completed before the test and "Prohibitions" was set to completed after the test. For at least one applicant, all the three statuses were set to "Completed" even before the applicant took the test and received Decision Made after the test was complete.

Hi Raj,
You have been a great great help on this forum;

Need your help if u can share your viewpoint and advise.
My application was received on October 22 2021, I received AOR on January 25 and Last updated is that they are working on my file since March 08.
My Office is Hamilton.
However as per the tracker, all my fields are "In progress", as per the IRCC helpdesk, my security has been passed however it shows "In progress " from RCMP, and there is no timeline when they will get it done.

As the majority of the October applications are getting Test invites with Backgroud completed, should I be worry? Any alternate way if I can ask RCMP to speed up with criminal tests and thereby completing the BG checks ?

Also, I will be moving from Oakville to Ottawa Very soon ( By mid-july) , will it cause any further delays?

I don't think it is possible to speed up RCMP clearance. Were you requested fingerprints? If you were requested FP, then there's an email ID that you can send a mail to and request status (May be @citizenship.enthusiast can clear that up for you).

From the reports I've seen, Hamilton appears to be a slow office. It is true that September and October applicants are receiving test invitations now but the general consensus is that in most cases, test invite won't be issued before BG is completed.

Did you order GCMS notes? When ordering notes, order them from CBSA rather than from IRCC, it apparently gives you less redacted version of notes. While making the ATIP request to CBSA, specify exactly what you are looking for. Something like "Please provide GCMS notes, officer's electronic notes and status updates for my citizenship grant application bearing the application number CXXXXXXX" or something on those lines.

Good luck!

Hi Raj,
Thank you so much for the reply.
No, I have not been asked for Fingerprints. , Further, does CBSA notes will include RCMP notes as well ? or do I need to request RCMP ATIP separately
Also, as I mentioned before I will be moving from Oakville to Ottawa by Mid july, so will this cause any delay ? or also does it also mean Hamilton office will handover my file to Ottawa office ?

Likely. The transfers usually do not happen between offices within the GTA but since you are moving outside the GTA to Ottawa, there will likely be a file transfer. We are not sure what exactly the impact would be but things might be delayed a bit with file transfers.

Also, since your BG checks are still IP, you might be requested for fingerprints.

Just to reiterate, there is no such thing as RCMP notes which come from GCMS as RCMP does NOT have access to the case management system. If you have not provided fingerprints and submit a request to RCMP you will get a response that no records were found, if you have submitted FP to CCRTIS, they will confirm your prints were processed and destroyed.

First, you need to establish if your application needs FP based criminal record check or not. You can do so by requesting case notes from either IRCC or CBSA. Both should provide you this information under Criminality section. It would say something like CIT- Fingerprints Required. This will only appear if your Background Check has started. IRCC will send you the case notes in about 30 days while CBSA could take about 60 days. Once you have received case notes, post in the forum and we can discuss if there's anything which can be done.

Also, moving from Oakville, ON to Ottawa should not have any affect on your application as your processing office should not change. Make sure to update your address change through webform tho.

is there anyone who applied for their minors? My kids (11 yrs old) application sent around 20 Oct. Never received AOR until end of June, I received an email saying I could inquiry status online. I called helpdesk, they told me AOR was on 27 Jan. I was provided the file number so that I could check online. Till now, nothing changed, every item is in progress. Is it normal? I thought minors might be faster as no background check and police clearance needed.
