I sent a message through the webform requesting an update. And the reply has saddened me.
This is their reply..

Good day,

Thank you for your email. As previously advised, the Visa Officer has reviewed your application and has requested you attend an interview.

We will contact you to advise when we can conduct international interviews.

October 7th 2019 applicant.
File transferred to NDVO in December 2019.
Haven’t heard anything since then.
Completing the 1 year bench mark in 7 days. ECAS status is the same since December as Application Received.
*Hoping for some miracle to take place next month*.

I heard they are supposed to be doing interviews remotely. I hope you get to do it remotely! Then that would mean some movement on the app! God Willing!

I felt like emailing them and telling them that no, i dont want to attend an interview and just give me visa. The pain is slowly turning into frustration now.
Take a positive side on this, once you go through the interview, in a short time you will get your DM and PPR. Good luck with your interview, should be easy

I

I do as a matter of fact.. our age gap might be a very big red flag.
There are many cases like that. Do your homework by consolidating as many evidences you can to prove your relationship is genuine. Also, did you try to research this forum to find any similar cases, how it went in the interview, what proofs were presented etc.?

Reasons for interviews range from them wanting to verify minor things or sometimes they ask for more proof of the relationship being genuine to bring with you like more photos, more proof of contact, statements from friends/family acknowledging the relationship, etc.
If they do it remotely and don't ask for evidence, just be on top of things you share with your spouse like anniversaries, birth dates and small things you have in common. Some will ask for the others' birth date just to test you.

How big of an age gap? Lots of people have age gaps. Hope it does not affect your case. My husband and I are very close in age; he is only 4 years older than me and me and you have similar timelines. Don't worry. ❤️

Hi. I'm asking for a friend. One of friends spousal application returned due to incomplete after 4 months. Just wondering if she has to sign again as its over 90 days old? Also pictures are older than 6 months as of today. Does she need new pictures of spouse? Any information will be really helful. Thanks
