Originally outland applicant but then moved to Canada and let them know (on visitor visa, husband a citizen). Got an email with request for passport and sent to Ottawa. Got all the docs back today with one extra paper saying:

Please note that we are returning your original documents without a Confirmation of Permanent Residence or permanent resident visa being issued. We want to assure you that this does not affect the decision of your application.

then more to do about Covid etc etc.

Has anyone else gotten then? No reasons given....

Can you explain to us what is happening

Ok so I called IRCC now and they explained it all. They put that letter in by default but actually they gave her PR as of yesterday. They will send out the PR card and/or COPR in time (delays because of Covid etc etc). But yeah they really know how to scare someone!

And I assume NDVO is New Delhi Visa Office? If so, our application was in Hong Kong and then got transferred inbound once she landed here as a TRV.

Changed to inbound? you mean it changed to inland? Is that possible?

There are some ferries that will take pedestrians and buses and trains that cross. Don't know how practical now.

I was able to get ahold of a detroit airport taxi service and they said they can still take people across to Windsor. So here's to hoping! Will be very excited if I don't have to fly!

Hey, seems we got the same letter . I am a little worried, what happened to you later? did they contact you later?

They said that she was actually given PR and that her PR card would be coming in but it could be different for you. I would call IRCC and ask them about the letter just to be sure. They should be able to give you a definite answer as to what is going on with your case.

Hi,
I am a PR in Canada and filling out application for spousal sponsorship for my wife who is in Pakistan.

I have a question regarding form imm5562e travel history form. This form is to be filled out by principal applicant (my wife in Pakistan).
part b) asks for spousal travel history as well. Do I need to fill out my (sponsor) travel history in that form too?

Any help will be appreciated.

yes for both of you

With them opening the border to family members and spouses I don't see any reason why they still aren't finishing outland applicants. If the applicants are in a country where they are aloud to travel then what is their reason for not finishing the applications? If time is an issue just give the applicants more time to get to Canada and then mail their pr cards to their Canadian residence.

Because they don’t know what to do. They’re playing flip coin who gonna processing first.

Hi all! I just came to Canada yesterday as a visitor for 8 weeks. I asked the border officer about a visitors record. The officer told me that she didn't believe I would need one as the only thing I am waiting on is my confirmation of PR and that I should get that any day now. I'm wondering if there is a way to let them know that I am currently in Canada as a visitor and if that may improve my chances of getting a confirmation sooner since I am already in the country.
