I received the AOR today (November 16). My application was delivered on October 23.
What is the next step? I am applying for my wife (outland) from quebec. When should I expect to receive the biometric request?

Yes! Now I can check my application on ECAS as well in the evening of the same day that I can linked to GCKey.

My sponsor received AOR in the same day (16th November 2019)

This has been a really stressful process so far and I'm happy they didn't take long to check our documents. We had to re-send them for a missing signature. Now we wait.. estimated processing time 11 months! (Oct 18 2020)

Hey Karl, no need to worry at this early stage. If you look at the google sheet, a couple of us that have our applications received on 21st and before haven't got AOR yet. It might just be a timing thing.

I have the same story mine was received on 21st I called CIC they said they have made and entry but NO ARO1 yet. where as some lucky one whose file was after us have received the ARO1 .congratulation to those ..

You need to understand that I am freaking out because my application was already returned twice already! And I saw a pattern which is when people that has their application received around the same day got thrir AOR and not me, it was always returned
