I am in similar boat as you three. Application received 10/30/19 (backdated to 10/23/19 by CIC). AOR received 12/24/19. No OWP yet. I am still in status. Have not received a request for medicals, either.

HOWEVER, I was just asked on March 2nd to provide a new IMM 5669 for my PR packet (the IMM 5669 that my Checklist linked to was IMM 5669e, the incorrect form). Not sure if this is related to my OWP, but it could explain a potential slowdown. Very frustrating, but I've uploaded the new form via Webkey. Now more waiting.

Hi, would you please provide a link to the new form you have to submit? Just in case I have also provided the wrong form ;) Thanks for the update!

So I called the CIC earlier about the biometrics cuz as what the website says all the applications received in Dec.3, 2019 onwards will have to give their biometrics but mine was received in Oct.10,2019 and have paid that biometrics fee already. I was asking if I could get a possible refund but they said that Dec.3 thing is only applies for TRV applicants so PR applicants still has to give their biometrics.

So I called the CIC earlier about the biometrics cuz as what the website says all the applications received in Dec.7, 2019 onwards will have to give their biometrics but mine was received in Oct.10,2019 and have paid that biometrics fee already. You will probably get a refund for the biometrics fees you paid. Inland applicants who applied before Dec 03, 2019 are still exempt from biometrics.

You might get a request for RCMP fingerprints down the process, but that is not same as biometrics.

Thanks for the info. This is the 2nd time I called them and they keep telling me that I still need to give my biometrics.. seems like they don't wanna give my money back.

I've read different people saying that after they got their landing interview email they also received an automatic refund for biometric fees paid in advance, without having to request one, just wait it out and if you see they are not voluntarily refunding you, call again to ask for one

To be honest, it's more likely that they don't know. The people that answer those calls aren't really the most knowledgeable and I am actually surprised you got the same answer (even though it is the wrong one) lol..

Like others said, what will probably happen is that you will not have to give biometrics and they will automatically refund you at the end.

You are an outland applicant, right? this thread is for inland.. but if you want to look at the spreadsheet (which also includes outland applications) go to page 1 of this thread and you'll see the link.

Lol, I agree, I think just about anyone in this forum can give a more knowledgeable answer about any immigration process they've been involved than the IRCC call center agents lol I've gone through TVR, Visitor Record Extensions, TVR Renewal, Student Visa, work permit for practicum, Open work permit, and now common law sponsorship lol with no help from anyone

Hi guys, I need some information regarding with filing tax. I have my sin # already, does it means I have to start filing a tax now even if I haven't started working yet? Also, do I still need to keep renewing my sin # even after I got my PR already in the future?

Thank you in advance to those who will answer and keep safe everyone! :)

Filling taxes is only mandatory if you own money to the government (although nowhere says that clearly after reading the tax guide you can get yourself to that conclusion) But if you have your SIN No. I would recommend you to do your taxes even if you have nothing to declare for several reasons: 1. You probably can apply for several government "bonuses" as a new holder of an OWP, so you can get some money back 2. It is possible to do your taxes electronically, but the first time you do your taxes, at least in Quebec, you need to do it in paper... so if is the same in the province you are, you can take advantage of the fact that your taxes are going to be super easy this year to apply on paper. 3. You need to file taxes at least once before you can start contributing to your RRSP, you will not be able to contribute to your RRSP next year if you dont file taxes this year.

You are required to file taxes whether or not you are employed. I recommend you speak with an accountant
