Unrealistic. Priority is good enough for me.
I am sure most if not all applicants don't care about reimbursement as much as they do for their files to advance (if at all), me included, but reimbursing those whose files have been ignored for too long for no real reason may give IRCC a good reason to pay attention to early applicants. They waive applications fees for some categories, I don't see why not be us, 2019 applicants with 2+ years of waiting

I think it's fair to say that all applicants who have been waiting for more than two years should be reimbursed for their applications fees and their files are given priority. The existence of urgent processing and IRCC fiscal years targets are messing things up for us.

Refund :p, Don't dream buddy.

If IRCC is able to process the remaining applications of 2019 before the end of 2022, it will be a big achievement for them.

IRCC is still not processing half of the applications, that they were processing back in 2019.

If you are following the twitter thread on 2019 citizenship applicants, please consider liking and retweeting Jenny Kwan's (MP for Vancouver East) letter to Sean Fraser.

I was about to post it. However, she doesn't seem to touch on citizenship applications directly. She mentions other categories by name. She talked about backlog of all immigration applications, though. I hope this can caused some changes in the short-term.

Indeed...
citizenship gets less attention (as always). But she does mention how opaque the system has been (no replies, no possibility for contacting ircc), how resources have been diverted to "easier" streams and applications, how newer files get finalized sooner... all of this applies to us too hehe...
what worries me the most is how she says that even MPs have had a harder time contacting IRCC. It seems like they really don't want people butting in...

Guys,

I have a status update on mine and my wife’s tracker on November 09, 2021 saying that our Oath is scheduled to be on Nov 27, 2021 and that they have sent me an official notice. However I haven’t received anything as yet in my email.
Do they send it by postal mail?
Should I write back to them saying I haven’t received anything?
Thanks

Congrats. No need to worry (or spam this thread). You'll get the email closer to November 20.

Oh really?? So late? Is this normal? I mean everyone gets the email only a week prior to the ceremony? Just wondering cuz don’t know what documents they might ask me to show before the oath ceremony!

And that’s how it’s proven everything is random. My office is Mississauga too, test in March, interview in April, decision made on April 29th, and no oath invite so far.

After more than two years, tomorrow I’m becoming a Canadian Citizen (fingers crossed). I got my notice to take the Oath of Citizenship a couple weeks ago on Oct 21 and my oath is tomorrow Nov 5 at 9am. My status online never changed to anything other than in progress and on Oct 21 it had an update with the notice to appear and the Ceremony step changed from “not started” to “in progress”.
Oath went well, became a citizen on Nov 5, and received my Certificate of Canadian Citizenship a week later on Friday Nov 12. Now I can apply for my passport as well. It's been a long journey but finally concluded.
