Hi Guys, I Had a question about my son's citizenship application, it was sent in Nov 2019, havent got the invite for the test yet. Howeever, his current Indian passport got expired this month ( Jan 2020 ). Do I need to renew it to get the canadian nationality ? He is 10 years old and will not be requiring a test.

My application was sent in October 2019 and I have heard anything about the test invite yet.

Expiry of his Indian passport will NOT affect the processing of citizenship application in anyway. He does NOT need a valid Indian passport to become a Canadian citizen.

I was just about to come here and ask if anybody who had to submit fingerprints heard anything because I hadn't yet and wanted to make sure they have not been lost in the ether somewhere but sounds like they are moving.

Mine were requested Feb 12th and got confrimation from RCMP that they were mailed to Vancouver on the 24th Feb

I had to submit requested Feb 6,2020 and submitted by feb 12

Nice, My file is in Edmonton too .. I completed my test on Dec 25th.. It still shows "In Process" .. Very unlucky on my immigration so far. My WP got delayed a year due to strike, My PR got returned under old CEC category. I have to attempt 5 IELTS to get the desired score for an EE Invite. It took almost 4 years which should have happened in a year. Now this one is keep going .. Uffff ... Let see .. !

Indeed I was! According to my GCMS notes, Ny background check expires next week so am afraid my process will start from scratch again. So waited until midnight to write the test and minimize the risks.
Let’s see what/when happens next.
