Hi,

I called IRCC call centre today and they mentioned that since I haven’t got the AOR , if I send my son’s application with a cover letter explaining them the situation and mentioning my application details, they would process it with my application as well.

Now my question is about the 2 pcs of child personal id. is the school record and health insurance card the only 2 documents that they would accept as piece of ids with DOB on it ?

Is there any other document that can be submitted to prove the ids. ? If yes, what are those ? My son is 9 years old and goes to grade 4.

Even if he is a school going child, as per IRCC website, they have mentioned that if the child is not school going then we can send biographical pages of passport

Two (2) pieces of the child’s personal identification

Both pieces of identification should show your child’s name and date of birth, one of which must have a photo on it.

Examples include:

• school record
• health insurance card

If there is information on both sides of your child’s personal identification documents, provide a photocopy of both sides.

For a child under school age, identification such as:

• a passport page containing their photo and personal details, or
• a hospital or immunization record, may be provided

Format: Clear and legible photocopy

Note: You cannot use your child’s permanent resident card as identification. "

I completed my residency requirements in September and sent my application in October as single applicant. My spouse completes her residency requirements next week and will be sending her application during the first week of December.

Based on the current timeline I would receive my AOR only at first week of January. My question here to the forum... If I send my spouse's application is December, will CIC process them separately or combine them together as a family ?? and secondly, how would it impact on the application processing timeline ?

Curious to know if anyone had a similar experience ?

School record and health insurance card is an example. Passport copy would be 1 proof and health card would be other as only 1 must have a photo. Passport copy is accepted as a proof even if child is school going.

If I am applying for his application , do I need to tick " yes " on question 11, use of an individual or auth rep

opt for no, if you or your spouse will act as representative then the same person can't sign application as guardian. Representative can't sign application as Guardian.

Ok, thanks. I have sent my sent my son's application yesterday to be added and processed with mine. When I called IRCC they asked me to do that, write a cover letter, mention as URGENT on the envelope so that they open it ASAP. I have sent it in an XPRESSPOST envelope of Canada Post. I will keep my fingers crossed and wait for their news , AOR for both of us.
I will provide you details so that it can be updated in the tracker.
